This guy fell off worse than Murko.

Nobody is ever the same after fighting Bones

I never thought he was the world beater that people made him out to be when he fought jones. I thought he lost that fight when I saw it. However... those first 3 rounds were competitive as fuck, and he also gave DC everything he could handle. He may have lost those fights, but I can only respect the grit and determination he showed in those all time classic fights.

DC did that to HW's.
Im sure you thought you had a point, and maybe this impresses the other people on this forum who also dont watch fights.
I think you are the one who is desperate to prove a point, while I'm just having fun^^ Relax a bit.

So upset that you are making basic spelling mistakes now <mma1> Guess that I struck a nerve or something.

This is a great analysis on how Gustafsson evolved and eventually declined as a fighter through his career.

That article is 3.5 years old. Gus has fought, and lost badly, twice after the Smith loss.

Anyway, I definitely admire his skills and toughness, however IMO, one of the following statements has to be true.

1.) Gus overachieved given his skillset and was a little overrated. While skilled on the feet and decent on the ground, his standup was not good enough to deal with the best and his ground skills could be exploited if his TD defense didn't hold up.
2.) After the 2nd Jones loss, Gus was completely broken BOTH mentally and physically when he was just shy of 32 years old. A sub loss to an old Werdum at HW is somewhat excusable but for a top level fighter, a sub loss to Anthony Smith and quick KO to Krylov are not excusable.
