About two weeks ago when Alex Pereira visited Germany to attend GLORY 81 in Düsseldorf, he took advantage of being in Europe to visit the Netherlands, also known as the Mecca of kickboxing.
He stayed here for about a week and trained at several kickboxing gyms.
I think it’s a good thing to do leading up to his title fight against Israel Adesanya, who’s mainly a striker aswell.

Pereira trained at the famous Mike’s gym in Amsterdam, founded by the legendary Big Mike Passenier.
Several world champions in kickboxing were born there, and still train at Mike’s gym.

Here you see Pereira training with K1 World-GP cruiserweight champion Sina Karimian, who also went to the Netherlands to train with the best

Pereira also trained with his former foe Yousri Belgaroui at Gym Royale in Amsterdam.
Yousri is a Glory Kickboxing middleweight-contender and fought Pereira 3 times (they went 2 to 1 in favor of Poatan).
Belgaroui is also focussing on MMA at the moment, combining fighting in MMA with his kickboxing career

Pereira also got to train at Days Gym in Almere. Dayon Mungra is their headcoach and he trains guys like Glory Kickboxing lightweight champion Tyjani Beztati.

Here you see Poatan sparring with Glory Kickboxing light heavyweight Clyde Brunswijk.
It looks like Pereira kinda let Clyde do his thing for the first half of the round, but later on he turned things on and really got the better of Brunswijk (as far as we can judge from sparring ofcourse)

Watch Izzy play some 5D chess and go train wrestling with D1 wrestlers from Nebraska and with Khabib in Dagestan. Take the Ngannou method and go for some double legs. Why fight fire with fire with a better striker with more power?
He wants to prove he's the better striker and that he's improved since they last fought and get his knockout loss back by trying to finish Pereira. As a fighter and striking being your strongest skill set, that's what you want to try and prove in this fight. Of course it's mma, people will say that, but if Izzy really wants to make a statement and avenge his loss - he will want to do it with his striking. Prove that his striking got better even though he quit kickboxing after that loss to Pereira.

"5D chess". As if the ridiculousness of "4D chess" wasn't enough.
3D Chess hasn't been cracked to this day, due to the fantastic invariables.
Let's play actual chess. You beat me, I'll accept whatever nonsense. If not, you quit using these ridiculous terms.
Let's go.

Would actually be a terrible idea. Of course he should think about mixing it up but chain wresting in a 5 rd fight would gas him by the third and leave him open to getting picked apart. Its way too late in his career to churn into a wrestler. Their second kickboxing fight was very close and Izzy has more experience in MMA striking, he should play this one out on the feet for the most part and that's exactly what he's gonna do.

He'll miss weight

It’s not gonna be a Muay Thai match.
