Couldn't have happened to a more deserving person. Too bad his opponent didn't knock him out for the showboating.

The only things i will give AJ is that he was unfortunate when the Bell rang twice while in good positions on the ground.
Apart from that he seemed like an absolute scrub, and showboating in a fight you lose is embarrasing.

A better fighter would have probably KO’d or rocked him when he was doing that. He let him get so close and did not react to that left hook at all lmao

I think it's pretty crappy to enjoy when someone loses, but I can't help it with this guy.

In this case I think it's not really sadistic, but more the fact that many people who've observed AJs actions over the years have been left thinking "He could really stand to learn some humility" and a pro mma debut loss gives him the CHANCE to do that.

Aren't aj antics the only thing that keeps him getting superfights etc.

In BJJ/Grappling yeah.

His mma skills are sub-par. At least he is not getting the Pico treatment and being put in with killers right away.

He is lucky that guy did not have power or did not sit down on his punches more.

AJ would be good for EBI rules tho, he could escape fast by getting his arm broken every time. Would be cool to see him fight say Shane Carwin. Having AJ make his angry bitch face and get his skull or at least jaw shattered would have been a lot cooler.

He got in there. I didn't watch the whole fight, only some highlight, but we've seen more celebrated guys do worse.

I'm not a fan of his but piling on is weak.

Well when you're showboating and cannot back it up.

Nevermind his behaviour in general - can't blame people.

You reap what you sow.

Wasn't he an throwing a temper tantrum rather then showboating proper.

He did reap what he sowed, he took his L.

Putting salt in his sugar won't make your's any sweeter.
Concentrate on how to improve your life, not bring others down.

I’m torn.

On one hand I always root for guys with grappling backgrounds when try make the transition to MMA.

On the other hand, I always get a kick out of cocky people getting humbled.

Hopefully this changes AJ’s tune. Probably not, but hopefully.

Any of you guys familiar with his wrestling background? He wound up spending a few seasons on the roster of NCAA DI powerhouse Ohio State but never started and as far as I can tell, he didn't actually wrestle all that much.

Im sure being in that room for a few seasons made him a pretty good wrestler but Im curious how it is he wound up on the team in the 1st place. I cant find anything about any significant high school accolades other than already being a good Bjj guy.
