News Adesanya wants Strickland rematch

Then if Izzy wins, he can deny Strickland a rematch. He who laughs last right?

I thought Izzy looked really good vs DDP until he got finished. He was aggressive and all.

He didn't looked great vs Imavov tho.

He hasn't looked like prime Izzy since beating Pereira imo.

5 years ago I think Izzy can snipe Dricus and make it so he is just walking forward into knuckles and kicks. (I could be wrong)

Dricus is a very good pressure fighter. Way under rated for his skills and ability imo. What he does WORKS at the highest level regardless of how people feel about how his striking technique LOOKS.

I'm getting sidetracked here...

Imavov doesn't touch Izzy in Izzys first title reign, he definitely doesn't clean standing KO him.

The difference is fractions of a second but it is the fractions of a second where the prime version let's the shots go without a second thought, and it is the shift where the 15% or so of less offensive output leaves time for the opponent to go. Which means more danger coming back at the aging champ.

It's the opponent being just that little bit less scared of the now mortal human in front of them rather than cautious and respectful of a champ they don't want to admit might be too good for them to beat.
The ounch they see coming and the brain says slip and the body gets the message too late and instead of whizzing by it lands clean.

I see it with Izzy.
Wrong side of 35.
100+ pro fights between mma and kickboxing.

I've seen it with Anderson, with Chuck, with Shogun, BJ Penn,

The mystique is gone and now you are losing to Keith Jardine, or Clay Guida, guys who wouldn't have even gotten booked as an opponent 2 years prior.

And it usually only goes one way. It's damn hard to get that giant snowball rolling back up the mountain.
