Meh. It wasn't really a great fight the first time, just surprising that Strickland got izzy to freeze up.

Izzy being clearly on the downside and showing signs of being a little gun shy (quite common among aging strikers, especially those who relied heavily on reaction time) coupled with a extremely defensively prioritized pitter patter pressure fighter is a recipe for a shitty fight.

Feed these old lions to hungry new up and comers please and let them try to defend their ranks.

I wouldn't mind seeing it because there are really no other interesting matchups for these guys right now....both are at a low point of demand I feel like, so at least this could give one of them a little resurgence, and Izzy looked so bad in the first fight that it will be interesting to see how differently it plays out.

Other than them fighting each other, the only interesting paths for them would be fighting way down the ladder against RDR or Bo Nickal.

Or "fun fights" against Michel Pereira or Shara Bullet. MVP vs Strickland would actually be really cool.

Great fight to make to be honest. Both guys have big name value, but lack any direction in the division at the moment. Easy fight to sell with their shared history

Yeah that's solid. I used to like Strickland but that last fight vs DDP after the way he talks about fighting has really soured me....you can't talk like you're Wanderlei Silva and then fight like that. And everyone has to love Whittaker so I'd probably be rooting for him to knock some fight into Strickland.

I thought Izzy looked really good vs DDP until he got finished. He was aggressive and all.

He didn't looked great vs Imavov tho.
