I'd say for actresses Samantha Morton and Toni Collette having incredible emotional expressions from their faces. (Warning I timestamped it to the point where Samantha is just about to scream)

Peter Dinklage in Cyrano had some very expressive moments.

There are scenes where he doesn't say anything but you can see in his eyes that his heart is breaking.

Really good performance once you get past the opening scene.

I nominate Jim Carrey

Yeah those are some pretty good choices. What else comes to mind... Claire Danes maybe.

Although I think a lot of what makes that a great performance is that you see what the character is thinking on his face, works well for a film thats really about men making plans.

Montaliban's Khan comes to mind for that kind of performance as well, not over the top but you can see the plotting going on.

From the options, daniel day lewis is the only one who can go to extremes and still not take you out of the scene.

The others, especially toni collette, you can clearly see them "acting" their ass off. I'm not a fan of this kind of overacting and overemoting, feels too fake in the moment.

Excellent actor. Just rewatched this scene (I tend to rewatch scenes from No Country every now and then, particularly this one, TLJ recounting his dreams- great ending, and the scene where TLJ’s relative advises him).

It’s nuts how quickly the tension escalates as soon as the shopkeeper asks him how the weather is by him/mentioning the Dallas plate.

“What business of yours is it where I’m from, friendo?” is terrific delivery. Bardem has delivered great work in every role I’ve seen him in.
