Really cool! I was born in the mid 80s so I missed Roddy at his prime so it was cool to look back at his humble beginnings and see a lot of his brilliant promos he cut back in the day. Hearing his wife and kids talk about him was really cool too. I think they took some liberties with the timelines, and for some reason they never mentioned Crockett at all, but overall it was cool.
The one thing I hate about it is that some parts had the WWE "twist" to it to always paint the WWE in a positive light.
The most glaring example is them bringing up an HBO interview Hotrod did in 2003 where he brought up a lot of valid criticisms about how sleazy the wrestling business and promoters are, how they chew guys up and spit them out, and thats one of the reasons a lot of his friends were dying early.
The documentary uses clips from Vince McMahon and even Hotrod's own family to portray the interview as have happened during a "dark time" for Roddy where he was depressed and lashing out irrationally and didn't really believe what he was saying. And then Vince McMahon, because he's such a great guy, finally forgave Roddy and welcomed him back.
And it's like, anyone who knows anything about wrestling knows what a slimeball McMahon is and how the wrestlers are treated. Shit wasn't it just a few weeks ago that they fired a wrestler and sent her belongings back to her in a trash bag? LOL, yeah but Hotrod criticizing WWE was totally irrational and the product of him being a dark time in life...
