Khamzat Chimaev Should get a Title shot with a W over Kamaru Usman at either divisions

Just because Costa messed things up there shouldn't be a collective punishment here. Chimaev was promised a TS with a W over Costa and the same should count for a W over Kamaru Usman.

There should be no collective punishment here. Unless they pull out Dodlize from the December 2 fight and moved to New York or Vegas UFC 295 or 296 against Cannonier or alternative Chimaev gets rewarded for destroying Usman

Chimaev has not fought in over a year. He sits out and does nothing. His last fight was a catchweight after missing weight. He is unranked at MW. And now facing another unranked fighter. But let's have him jump the line over DDP? Over an Adesanya rematch? Cannonier rematch? Please.
 
I’ll be mad if anyone but DDP gets the next shot at MW. He absolutely deserves it. He beat the clear #2 everybody was ducking in impressive fashion and is on a streak much better than Khamzat .

If Khamzat can even make 170 though, I don’t hate him getting a shot at that belt. People will call Usman washed but beating a top guy is impressive
 
I hope he gets title shot. Everyone on Sherdog will be so salty. Dude tried fighting the highest ranked MW, it's not his fault. Usman > Costa anyways, I don't care what people say. Also not to mention it's so he's "ready" for Strickland. Who was a WW and never beat anyone the level of Burns.

Khamzat Chimaev come up to MW in the promise of being offered title eliminator fight and they did give him that in Costa but he messed up. Usman was given same promise step in and if you win get TS against Strickland. He is the WW goat no crime in him getting TS against strickland with a W.. I think in DDP case he declined a fight promised to him. But in any case he will probably fight KC-Usman vs Strickland winner.. Strickland will be very active there won't be much wait either way

Blame the UFC for this one though. They purposely had him sit out so he could be on this god damn Abu Dhabi card. Complete retards as they are. They butchered the Australian card recently too due to their poor matchmaking. Really been shit at making fights this year.

No, he shouldn't get a title shot at MW for beating never-MW Usman. He shouldn't have gotten one for beating Costa either.
Beating Usman definitely gives him some strength for WW, but he shouldn't be getting into the 170 title scene either until he weighs 170

DDP declined a fight because he was injured. Khamzat shouldn’t get to skip the line. DDP fought Whittaker who was clearly the no. 1 contender and former champ nobody else wanted to fight and he finished him. He’s earned his shot very clearly.

He could have taken the Izzy fight but declined.. By the way he is young there is no rush he is in good position to fight winner of Usman/Chimaev vs Strickland

He didn’t fight Izzy because he was INJURED. The UFC is a garbage organization, we already know that but forcing injured fighters to fight or having them lose their shot is BS. Nobody deserves that shit more than Dricus and he shouldn’t have to take another fight.

He already took the fight nobody wanted and that nobody thought he’d win because he, unlike everybody else wasn’t looking for the easiest route to the belt. He deserved major props for taking the hardest fight nobody else wanted and he went on to win.

Khamzat beating a washed up former WW champ or Usman losing 2 in a row prior, getting his first win at MW does not beat out DDP’s shot.

Khamzat needs another fight to earn the MW shot IMO.

He wont have any top wins at MW, he isnt a champion at WW either for the sake of the "no top wins at X division" argument when champions get to skip the line, they are champions already they can get a pass, Chimaev isnt one, and he isnt fighting a MW at all, its a WW guy, top guy but still not a MW or someone planning to make the move to MW anyway, it would be a joke for him to get a title shot off of this fight, get him a top opponent after and we are good.

khamzat should be pulled from this card all together. usman has had no mw fights in the ufc and isnt ranked there, neither should get a shot at strickland after this fight.
