I think in this fight, both fighters risk facing humiliation and backlash from fans if they lost

With Tony Ferguson, he is nearly 40 and a shall of his former self, but he does have way more experience, over 20 UFC fights vs Paddy's 4 UFC fights. Ferguson has fought some of the best whereas Paddy has not really fought any one noteworthy.

With Paddy, he is fighting someone who has lost 6 fights in a row, someone who the fans have been begging for him to retire for his own health and safety. If he can't beat a 40 year old corpse of Tony Ferguson, who can he beat besides complete tomato cans who don't belong in the UFC.

My pick would be that its more humiliating for Tony Ferguson to lose. I can already imagine the MMA headlings, "Tony Ferguson ties the UFC record for most consecutive UFC losses in a row after brutal loss to Paddy Pimblett"

I also feel even though he's not in his prime, losing to Paddy would be damaging to Ferguson's brand and legacy, people will remember his losing streak rather than his incredible LW streak and the time where people thought he could beat Khabib. Paddy on the other hand, doesn't really have much of a legacy to protect

For sure it would be more embarrassing for Paddy to lose. This was very obviously setup to be a gimme fight for him, and should be.

I hope it happens.
Yeah at first I had Paddy too, but then i took into account that Ferguson losing would mean he is tied for the most consecutive UFC losses, It would mean even Jared Gordon did better than him against Paddy etc.

Paddy is ranked 26 and Tony is 37. Why is Paddy fighting down? He should fight Bobby Green at 17 or Jalin Turner at 20.
I guess they want to protect his image and hype. Lots of fans turned on Paddy after his last fight and interview. They want to give him someone he can definitely beat to regain some momentum.

Its still risky though, losing to Ferguon, i think its all over for him

Paddy is on the rise and will be the easy favorite. He is absolutely expected to win this fight.

One thing Tony might have in this fight is we dont know how Paddy wears damage. Tony usually gets his opponents once or twice before losing but guys like Green and Diaz known for durability. And Paddy is grappler but not like Oliviera or Dariush.

I voted Tony but switched it to Pimblett. Tony has lost his last 6 fights and is 39, Bobby Green was a step down in competition and he still lost. Paddy is arguably an even further step down from Bobby Green. I had faith Tony still had enough left to beat Green but he didn't. For Paddy, anything other than sheer domination is basically a loss but I don't think he'll dominate Tony.

Ferg way past prime is still the best opponent Paddy has ever fought.

In a fighting sense, Tony has already lost everything he had to lose. It's a disgrace that the UFC continues to give him more fights. At this point, he's only a sympathetic character. Paddy is the only one with something to lose here.
