Avoiding the trilogy with Alex I think was when it was clear that Izzy doesn’t have the heart of a champion and now he expects a rematch and gets it just shows his privilege. I don’t think his mind is in the game anymore and I think after the last few losses it is clear that he was never really that good and should probably just retire.

Izzy got dominated and I'll always believe that if the champ decisively loses, they don't deserve an immediate rematch.

DDP should be next but if he is still out, I would think the Khamzat/Costa winner is next.

Crazy how the narrative has changed over a weekend.

Strickland fought the best fight of his life on Saturday night. A++ performance. But can he consistently do that against different styles?

Just in his previous fight Abus was tagging him up.

I don't know who'd win between him and Whittaker but I do know that Whittaker would give him a lot more different looks than Izzy did. That includes changing levels for takedowns.

I forgot Whittaker is still in the picture after that loss to DDP. Guess people don't consider him to be the Max of MW anymore. So as far as guys who can get a titleshot within 1 fight or less are Cannonier, DDP, Khamzat, Whittaker, (I guess Costa too).

I think thats probably the main thing which would stop a rematch, Dana having someone else he's hyped ready to step up.

Honestly the way this fight went I think Izzy would be wise not to rematch right away.
