Are Jones thin calves part of the reason why he's such a fluid kicker compared to other wrestlers?

If they are light, then he maybe can move them faster? Or is that cancelled out by more muscle on people with thick ones?

The famous Karate Kickboxer Joe Lewis said that the best physique is wide shoulders, thick thighs, and thin wrists and calves.

Which is what Jones has...

Probably a lot less taxing for him to spam high kicks with leaner legs than another heavyweight with much thicker legs. I think he does have the perfect frame and build for his style of fighting for sure. It still can pose disadvantages as well. Everything has its advantages and disadvantages. Jones striking is more choppy than fluid, I think.

This is probably a totally retarded n00b question, but does less leg muscle mass also equal better cardio? Or does it not work like that with leg muscles?

Based on myself, It's negatively correlated with natural leg strength. I struggled as a beginner to keep my entire leg elevated when kicking. I've had to do probably twice as much leg holds as other guys (they might not even need it). But power is not affected since that is determined by rotation and Speed. Might actually benefit power once it's conditioned

i read somewhere that that type of small, condensed muscle fiber located on the calves is conducive to way more strength and explosive output

Aerodynamics

To take an extreme example. Could Mike Tyson swing his leg like this if he learned TaeKwonDo? Everybody looks like me in the dojo.. as if it's natural selection in the wild.

And People who look like Tyson tend To be wrestlers or pitbull owners
