It was morally fair, but she wasn't good enough to know that her knee was going to explode, so she didn't know she should've tapped a lot earlier.

This feels like the grappling equivalent of the "lucky punch" argument. If you apply a submission intending to get the tap or throw a strike intended to land and it achieves the intended goal, it's hard to attribute it to luck. Not impossible, but hard.

Both fighters honestly seemed a bit surprised when the knee popped but shit happens. Maybe the knee was compromised going into the fight (possibly even unknown)? Weird shit happens in fights all the time. At the end of the day, the fighter achieved a position and applied a submission hold and got the tap. It's a lot easier to attribute a strike to luck than a submission IMO.

I don't know why i'd have no issues with soccer kicks and it's a fight were both are trying to kill each other, but i always felt weird about submissions which affect the knees. It's such a fragile area and can fu** you up for the rest of your life and it really does end alot of careers.
