Just imagine they're still boys and have just been putting on an elaborate show for the fans all this time

They made 1.5 mil each with PPV for their last fight against each other, talk behind the scenes and decide to stir the pot even more.

With Mas Beating Colby's ass right as he finishes a podcast with the Nelk boys.

Colby presses charges, they both get more clout and have one final money fight or "grudge match" to fall back on when they're both finally ready to hang it up.

Even American Top team joins into the fun. Poirier says when they fight, one of them is going to jail.

It's a hell of a WWE storyline.

And for fighters who typically aren't super charismatic, star like figures who garner attention and views. To be able to drum up so much attention, clout and money in such an elaborate play..

it would be pretty damn impressive

People are so cynical these days that at this point, they are still willing to say retarded shit like this despite all evidence pointing to the contrary.

Colby isn't like that behind the scenes. Neither is Masvidal.

We all know what Colby does is a character. He's doing everything he can and taking every trick from the pro wrestling playbook to create clout for himself.

People have known this for a long time.

But those closest to him. His best friend Masvidal who brought him up in the game and his team take it at face value?

Everyone who interacts with Colby behind the scenes says he's the nicest guy ever..nothing like the image he portrays.

I guess Im smart enough to at least acknowledge the possibility that it's all a big play.

It's not cynical. I applaud the effort and appreciate every level of the circus involved in this industry.

I think for Colby to go from being about to be cut from the UFC to creating this sort of notoriety, clout and money is amazing. We should all aspire to such artistry in selling ourselves.

Too many pro wrestling fans coming into mma imo.

I know MMA has it's roots in pro wrestling somewhat, but it's still too much.

You know its WWE fans because they all use the same carny language. "It's a work brother" "Colby just plays the heel. He's a babyface in real life."

I haven't watched wrestling since I was a kid

But I think when you watch combat sports for long enough, you begin to learn that it's all a big stage. This is a world that's fueled by views and clout. Attention is currency.

You should learn some pro wrestling tricks if you want to understand how things work, as they've been utilized in combat sports since the beginning.

This is verifiably something that Colby is doing. Something that Rousey did. Both of whom were mentored by Chael, who first brought it into mma.

Rousey doesnt handle her emotions very well. She made the excuse that she doesnt mind playing the heel, but in reality, its simply her personality that would make her out to be the bad guy in certain situations to many people. She's a fan of pro wrestling, but really she's just going to feel and act a certain way,and doesnt care if people dont like it. She isnt going to placate the fans. She didnt shake Miesha's hand because she doesnt like or trust her,and that's all that was.

I think when you play a character for long enough, you can start to take on parts of that character.

I believe Chael said this once in reference to Conor as well.

Well known in Hollywood. The joker for example was always thought to be a cursed character because of what you'd need to take on to play the role effectively.

Acting is no joke.

Rousey certainly wasn't like that when she got to the UFC. But, she started getting some wisdom from Chael, took on some of that Roddy Piper energy and went full heel.

I think being able to separate the real from the character is a hard thing for most people.

But, that's also what keeps the wheels moving. If people could see through the illusion then it wouldn't garner the same level of attention.

Would be pretty epic and funny

Imagine Khabib and Conor were best friends the entire time, and the bus incident was staged and behind the scenes they are eating out and hugging eachother

Nah, some things are just too far.. lol

I think most beef is pretty contrived

But when you throw Islam into the mix, things get heated.

I dont agree. She just feel how she feels, and it might not vibe with what the general public wanna see,and she dont care about that. She stays true to herself. Her saying she dont mind playin the heel means, that if people dont like it,she isnt gonna try to change their minds or apologize for it.

She was america's sweetheart, but when people saw how uncomfortable and over emotional she was on TUF,that wasnt an act. She just would rather avoid miesha tate or just beat her ass. If she isnt allowed to do either of those things,on a reality show, she kinda loses it.

Why is that too far? Masvidal is facing felony charges, but this is all just a elaborate facade.
