I think Jones and Francis were both a little rattled by each other if we're being honest

Guy from Jon's camp says he was scared of Francis and happy to be fighting Gane, I believe it. Jon is a smart man and fighter and knows that's a tough fight because Francis would stuff him, probably a few times like he did to Stipe and would have a good chance to decapitate him.

Jon says Francis didn't believe in himself enough to bet on himself and take the Jones fight. I believe that too. As beastly as Francis is, we saw some mental midget moments there against Derrik Lewis and in the buildup to the first Stipe fight where he had extremely odd behaviour and lost. I think one of the GOAT's in Jones was in his head a bit as well.

but it's not scary, especially now a days. Jon's scariest wins happened years ago. all of his latest wins were uneventful and mid.
Hope I'm not pointing out the obvious, but by scared he probably means Francis being scared to lose the title. Seems like he has a lot riding on his reputation to keep it, as we saw with the Gane fight

Francis wanted the fight and called him out a few times. Jones sat and waited, then the nanosecond Francis was released Jones is back willing to fight anyone BUT Francis for the belt. Very obvious what happened there, in no way were Francis’ options “fight Jones or get cut” and chose to leave. Jones been waiting years for a safer fight for the HW belt.

and that's what i'm talking about. scared of what? Jon Jones could barely beat Dominick Reyes.

Nah, The word months ago was that Jon had agreed to fight in UFC 285 whether it was Ngannou, Blaydes or somebody Else.

Ngannou bolted and it ended up being Gane.

Who knows? I think it's a question mark. Ngannou could feel Jones will come back stronger and motivated. Personally I think Ngannou just wanted to box (for his own personal ambitions) and was never going to sign that away. He would fight Jones no problem because he is much less calculating, regardless of (perceived) fear or not. I don't even think it matters to Francis if he loses the belt at that point because he wasn't going to box anyway until his contract expires in a million years. In a way this makes this sound like a red herring

Jones was the first one to call out Ngannou back in 2021. Before he even had the belt.

He also signed to fight him and Ngannou didn't take the deal.

Y'all are just making things up at this point

People think Ngannou was a worse matchup for Jones than he actually was. In reality, it was the other way around.

i just think Ngannou isn't scared of anyone in the UFC. Stipe looked like a monster when Francis fought him the first time and Francis came in there thinking he was going to just blow past him. i don't see what he'd see in Jon that he couldn't see in that first Stipe fight or even the Overeem fight. Ngannou was such a noob at that point going up against tried and tested top veterans and he was smoking them like nobody's business.

jones been training with and beating hw's since his first day in the gym. when hes not cutting he weighs the same as a log of 230-245lb hws. now hes bigger.

its interesting because there is a lot more risk of getting ko'd for jon at that weight but if he can show up in decent form he beats any hw including francis. win or lose i dont see anyone matching jon jones career
