January 22nd, i was on the edge of collapsing, i had been waiting for at least 5 months for that night to happen already ! I was cheering at who i consider to be the next dominant champion of the decade in the HW division, Ciryl Gane !!! Then, it all shattered, when i saw francis judo throw ciryl like a bag of potato, my eye got empited, my jaw was wide open, i didnt had any word, while my french friend on discord were crying live and spitting insults at each other on the channel saying its the end, i was motionless, i was empty....

Here are some medias to relive that night:

A good moment of the night actually:

I'm ok, Ciryl will rebound, what is tho giving me some question mark is he isnt doing so much training lately and seems to be focused on his medias and twitch channel as we speaking.

I would gladly accept and be stoked to see a clash between Ciryl and the future of the division, Tom aspinall, it would be a slick technical striking clinic, cant wait to see this one in the near future !

I’m not even hating on you man like legitimately I understand being affected by a fight. October 2019 I was effected by Rob’s ko loss to Izzy, I was so sad seeing Australia’s first champion snuffed out like that. But eventually I realised that dwelling on it is just not healthy.

I understand your process of acceptance may be different to mine and writing this stuff down might be your way of coming to terms with stuff and that’s ok. But at the end of the day it’s just a sport and Gane is healthy which is what matters.

Tom Aspinall is not the future of the division @Versez

Gane could be champion for at least a year or two if he got off Twitch and got back in the training room.

Gane could be champion for at least a year or too if he got off twitch and got back in the training room.
and why dont you see tom as maybe the future of this division ? im curious.

Because fighters like Gane & Ngannou who are natural athletes are always going to have a significant advantage over him.

He is a very good fighter, very well rounded, but he is not "the future" of the HW division other than potentially being the Robert Whittaker/Colby Covington of the division.

Fighters like Tom always look like world-beaters until they face other elite competition.

Love Gane but was really happy for Francis.

Gane will bounce back he is an awesome fighter.

Looking back on a fight after all the excitement has died off can be fun in retrospect. Not a fun fight to rewatch though

Gane did a pretty solid job considering he had to be very careful the whole time. Every time they engaged Ngannou would make that mean face and Gane got way out of range fast.

The bad knee and takedowns were the story of the fight though. There was a moment where the camera angle showed Dominic Cruz in the crowd with the most perplexed look on his face watching N'gannou win the fight with grappling and that sums up the sentiment perfectly

Losing 1 fight isn't the end all be all. Gane will learn from this and he's probably more motivated to improve his game. I can still see him holding UFC gold.

Haha, well, don't look up to anyone just hope for the best, people are mortals, but sherdoggers are dogs backwards = gods. After all we never die and keep coming back with the same shiite that never dies....our posts live on forever.
