I mean, there's a handful of main events I'd rather watch don't get me wrong.. But the bad blood and storyline is intriguing. We haven't had a grudge match as nasty as this one since Conor Khabib.

Before some of you comment saying this is manufactured.. There's no fucking way. Mas doesn't strike me like the type of guy who would agree with another man to talk about his ex wife and kids or anything of the sort just for some attention and clout. Not a chance. There's definitely beef here between these two.

Also, when you look at the fight itself, we forget that there's really only one person During Usman's title reign that he couldn't wrestle fuck even though he tried, and that's Mas. Jorge's TDD is pretty good and Colby does get hit clean fairly often so there's that.

I think it'll be a good fight with a finish.
Thoughts?

I pretty much agree with everything you've said.

Whether the beef is as real and heated as presented is up to anyone's interpretation. The fact remains that there isn't an MMA fan who doesn't want to see this fight. The complaints are more about UFC 272 than Covington vs. Masvidal. Many believe that if we're supposed to pay through the nose to watch non title fight main events like it, it should be accompanied by a better card like Masvidal/Diaz was. But hey, I'm looking forward to it more than some of the garbage PPVs we've had in the past couple years like Nunes/Spencer.

You should check out WWF.
It has a lot of story lines that are entertaining too.

This fight will be a 5 round wash with Colby 50-45'ing or worse.

WWF makes the fights competitive and fun. Multiple almost tap's, refs getting ko'd with chairs, other fighters jumping into the ring. It's good shit bro. Super Necessary.

The two most overrated welterweights in the top 10 I think.

Fake ass beef to sell PPVs.

Both lost to Usman twice now.

This feels like a fight for teenagers or something to me, Masvidal most likely gets grinded to a halt, he's never shown himself to be good vs strong wrestlers.

Complete opposite for me. Find both guys obnoxious, WW is the most inflated division with even top 5 guys having incredibly thin resumes, and their styles match up poorly in terms of an exciting fight. I see this fight going the Robbie vs Hendricks 2 route and considering how weak the rest of the card is, this is a skip for me. Can read the round by round recap of the lackluster decision the next day

Losing to Usman doesnt make you overrated. Most people dont expect them to beat Usman.

I'm curious how much Mas has improved due to working with Bo Nickal. And I expect Colby to have sharper stand up too

You do this a lot, its very toddlerish. I never said they're overrated because they lost to Usman, those were two seperate points for a reason.

They both lost to Usman twice so this fight has no real implication towards contention.

Jorge is a LW journeyman with not too many relevant wins, clear holes in his game and is undersized for the WW division. Hes also old, 37. Definitely a dude who'd catch a lot of Ls in other organizations. Good, nothing special to be considered a world class talent, always had more promise at LW but had no discipline in regards to diet.

Colby has zero active top 10 wins, hes also small for the division and relies a lot guys having mediocre defensive wrestling and or worse cardio than him. He mostly beat up old men at 170lbs.

Legitimately don't think these guys are anything too special, Colby is a solid grinder but nothing we havent seen. They both speak out a lot for a reason.

Yeah that alone doesnt mean their overrated, thanks.

I’m excited for most every numbered card. For me it’s a time to relax, work on home or gardening, join the PbP & forget about other things.

The hype has gotten me slightly more pumped up. I think it’s partly real and partly blown up for publicity. Fine for them, generates more interest for all.

I think Colby should win. Like every fight, there’s a possibility of a finish from either fighter. I think Jorge could get an early round or two.

The more I watch the more I see surprises in every fight. Rooting for Jorge because I usually root for underdogs. I respect Colby’s wrestling and cardio. I prefer Jorge’s striking style.

Right, that was never the implication as specified. You're welcome.
Oh? then what was your implication? that you think they arent anything special? Is that all? Damn, dont hit me with the big guns now.

Fake or not, there is a reason bad blood sells the most. The most bad blood match in history was probably Conor Khabib - two former friends that had their relationship sour and then it got nasty. The end result = it outsold the top cards of all time by double. It was even bad blood Ken vs Tito - not even a competitive match - that saved the UFC. People just love grudge matches and these guys, fake or not, did it right.

Yep and that Khabib/Conor thing was allowed to simmer over the summer til the fight in Oct. It couldnt have gone any better, timing wise.
