Islam vs Khabib?

anything can happen in fantasy

The funny thing is they probably wouldnt of fought even if Khabib didn't retire, due to khabib training Islam.

Well the fantasy fight would likely start with each of them trying to grapple before backing away and circling.

Then Khabib shoots a fireball at Islam, but Islam kicks it away and counters by turning into a tornado and chasing Khabib around. Khabib gets caught up in the tornado but then suddenly explodes with fire and Islam is knocked away. Khabib grabs him and slams him down, and we lose sight of them because they've left the map and are on the level below now

Sadly, we will never know who won this fantasy fight

Khabib destroys Islam.

Just as big of a fan of Islam as Ackmed but there's levels to this.

What made Khabib special and a generational talent was his pressure & granite chin. Neither of which Islam possesses.

Posted this mini breakdown of Khabib in another thread a lil while back but it highlights what separates Khabib from Islam:

Khabib's pressure is insane. No wonder all of his opponents gas so early. Dude just walks you down non-stop, not to mention he has a granite chin so you can't even land a clean strike to get him to stop.

It's crazy we've seen arguably the most dangerous leg kicker in Edson Barboza kick him straight in the head to get back him to back off a lil but Khabib didn't even budge and continued on with his relentless pressure:

Then we saw arguably the hardest hitting LW ever in Justin Gaethje hit him square on the chin with a clean uppercut followed by a powerful left hook and it didn't even phase Khabib one bit...

-----------------------------
This is no knock on Islam. Don't get it twisted, he's a special fighter in his own right and may even possess a better skillset than Khabib but there's more to it when evaluating fighters. Khabib's gas tank, pressure, granite chin, & fight IQ makes him the better overall fighter.

And aside from their brother-like relationship, I'll never truly understand the Khabib & Islam comparisons. They're such different fighters. It's night & day.

Josh Thomson said, and I'm paraphrasing, that Islam is the more skilled fighter but Khabib has an iron will and refuses to lose. It sounded to me like he was describing a big brother - little brother situation

Islam is a better striker than Khabib

I actually got Islam. He seems to be same style but cleaner in how he gets the finish. I feel like in a pure grappling match Islam wins, and I think this fight would turn into a grappling chess match with some limited dirty boxing.

Islam's got more finesse skill wise, but Khabib's a juggernaut.

I'd go with Khabib by decision, but I think it will be a close fight, like a 3-2 decision

Great break down!

At 155, Islam would have won.

At 170, Khabib would have won.

Those headkicks clearly don't land on Khabib.
