I do think it’s an interesting match up, because RDA is not getting subbed and even when we have seen him grapple fucked (khabib, Usman, colby) his opponents have barely been able to pass full guard or maintain top control for extended periods.

Islam probably wins a comfortable decision on control time but I think RDA would do surprisingly better than almost every lightweight against Islam (barring PERHAPS Dariush and Oliveira).

Agreed! Perfect comparison. And I’d argue Oliveira has the similar unknowns, unorthodox style that makes it interesting but also the potential to have glaring weaknesses that see him dominated.

Islam is the sturdy and consistent fighter without flaws who some of us hope his krpytonite will be a dynamic BJJ artist and unorthodox striker who can catch him in something.
