Pride 33 was held on 24 Feb 2007, fifteen years ago today, and I personally consider it one of the best cards from Pride FC. To those who have not seen this card, believe me when I say it is definitely worth watching. 9 fights, 8 of them finishes and some in spectacular fashion.

In the main event, Dan Henderson avenged a previous loss from 7 years prior when he KO’d Wanderlei Silva to become the new Middleweight Champion.

In the co-main, Nick Diaz submitted Takanori Gomi via a rare Gogoplata, only to have his victory reverted to No Contest after testing positive for weed. This fight was one of Diaz’s defining moments.

I’ll be rewatching some of these fights today, and probably still get goosebumps.

Great event . I remember Dan winning kind of throwing a wrench in things. Later on with Rampage upsetting Chuck in his UFC title shot , Henderson and Rampage further prolonged the fan hyped match up of Chuck vs Wand , yeah they eventually threw down and it was great but potentially if Chuck and Wand had beaten their respective opponents they would have been the First Pride Champ vs UFC Champ as opposed to Dan and Rampage.

Respeck. Nice to see somebody still talking about the classics. Those were the days.

I was totally gutted to see Wanderlei lose the belt. Killer event otherwise.
