Do you think most UFC fighters actually enjoy fighting?

The stress, the intense training, the physical damage they take. Do they enjoy that or is it the fame, fortune and lifestyle of a fighter is what makes them overlook all what is involved.

Do most pro athletes enjoy their sport?
I think you have to to some degree in order to succeed. If you don't have some sort of passion how do you possibly put in that extra work and maintain the drive to be on that level? It's not like a normal 9-5 you can just go through the motions on
Unless you're Sam alvey

Not really. Getting cte and risk the possibility of an injury or being knocked out in front of the whole world is a pretty big downside to fighting.

I think it depends, case by case basis.

I think a guy like Tuivasa is a real fighter and not an athlete, he loves fighting and would be fighting on the street, I think he will just sign to fight whoever and not over-think or over-analyse it or have any nerves whatsoever

I think a guy like GSP doesn't really like fighting, he said it thousands of times that he hates fighting and is so nervous and an anxious wreck, but he is a natural amazing athlete and he does like to compete. He is much more of a athlete, I don't think he will be like Tuivasa just dropping ripped guys on the street and then enjoying a burger and beer

Most like training and living the life. They all like winning and making more money. Most probably enjoy the fight itself if they don't get hurt. Only a few freaks like making the walk.

It depends. I think the older generation definitely did. Those who fought in the early UFC, PRIDE, or other NHB. They didn't really get fame or fortune out of it quite like some of the elite today. I'd say, as a whole, they fought because they were badasses. It's probably more of a mixed bag now.

I think most fighters love training. A lot of them like fighting but I would guess a much lower percentage.

I think there are fighters like GSP who literally says he doesn't like fighting, but he did it cuz he's very good at it.

It's hard to say.

You can say whatever you want about Conor, and his fall was sad, but he does love fighting.

They will all have varying opinions on it.

I'm sure some do enjoy it, some do it for prestige, some do it for honor, most do it for money, some do it for legacy etc...

I'm sure for many fighters, it's a mix of one or more things above.

And people change too. When you are in this game for a long time, priorities change, your attitude change and so on.

I think those who love to stand and bang do (the Tuas, Lawlers, Cyborgs, etc).

But those who generally prefer the less violent arts of the sport, BJJ, wrestling, judo, etc., probably don’t especially as the sport has become predominantly stand and bang.

They probably enjoy training and maybe the rush you get from competing, but I doubt anyone enjoys getting punched in the face, no matter how much money you can make from it.

I'm sure a lot of them do, but a lot of them also wish they could get paid more for doing so.

They like it better than their alternatives….
