  • There just waiting for the UFC to give the confirmation for them to fight.
  • He wants to do 5 rounds with Chimaev.
  • He has a lots of respect for Khamzat, but he think he maybe a little overconfident.
  • Yes Khamzat has faced good competition, but now against him it's a completely different level.
  • People are overlooking Burns, including Henry Cejudo. But Burns says that's ok let them overlook him and they don't have a crystal ball. Tune in April 9.
  • Burns thinks he should fight the title if he beat Khamzat. Also, Khamzat should fight for the title as well if he wins.
  • When it's all said and done, he wants be remembered like the guy that fought everyone in his era. Just like Wanderlai Silva did in his time.

Whoever wins the fight should be next in line. Colby and Jorge both had 2 chances and fell short. Let Usman fight someone else. Even if Burns had his shot already, a win over Khamzat earns the title shot imo. And Khamzat beating Burns would earn him a title shot as well imo

That’s a tricky poll question. Beating number 2 should earn you a TS. But, should beating number 11 as the number 2? I’m not sure that’s worthy. That’s what’s crazy about a number 2-3 (Burns-Lewis) fighting a number 11 (Borz-Tai). And now with Dariush pulling out we have a similar situation with Islam. Though it is different because of his win streak and the Dariush late injury.

I’m trying to think of something uniform and fair to everybody, but it’s not black and white. If Borz beats Burns he deserves a TS. If Jones ducks an interim title fight, then Tai deserves to be in that fight. If Burns beats Borz I don’t think that is quite enough for a TS, but it wouldn’t be wrong to give him one. And in HW if Stipe does win an interim title fight of course he would be next. But, in normal circumstances you should have to get at least 2 wins, and preferably 3 after a title fight loss to get another title fight.

I don’t have the perfect system but a real drop in rankings after a loss would be a step in the right direction too.

Excited to see Khamzats rise, but I'm a big fan of Gilbert, just hope it's a great fight.

Have to reward Burns for taking this fight.

If Burns wins but is forced to win another fight for a TS, then no ranked contender will ever step up to fight a hyped, lower-ranked prospect ever again.

He doesn't have to be "next" (and shouldn't be) but he should be in line without having to win another fight.

Burns is a real G for taking this fight. Cool interview too, I'm all in on the Borz train but I always wish fighters like Burns well.

Now this is promising, saying he is preparing for the fight april 9 in jacksonville (he even said the city), hes in training camp preparing for khamzat. Says its not done yet but he fully expects it to be finalized!!!! HELL YES.

Give the people what they want!
Usman vs Khamzat!

No one truly cares about the rematch of Usman vs Leon Scott. Scott was practically finished by old unranked LW Nate Diaz in his last fight.

It's kind of a slap to the face of Usman. He spent years as the dark horse and had to wait for his shot.
