Colby Covington hasn't beaten anyone in the current top 15

I don’t care for the guy but objectively this is not a good post. If you know you know if not then I would just suggest continuing to watch the sport and see how it’s evolved.

Why is a guy who hasn't beaten anyone in the top 15 considered the second best fighter in the division? His best win is RDA.

If Khamzat beats Burns he will have a better win than anyone Colby has fought.

Aldo and Mendes aren't top 15

Aldo is still an elite fighter today and Mendes retired immediately afterwards. Then Volkanovski went on to beat Max 2x and Ortega. Who did Colby beat to deserve having the the number one rank today?

Kim was ranked, Maia was top 5, RDA was top 5, Lawler was top 10, Woodley was top 10, and he fought Usman tooth-n-nail for damn near 10 rounds.

It's truly not that hard to comprehend
What does it say about the UFC that guy that lost 10 straight rounds was still ranked in the top 10?
Even worse, what does it say that beating that guy got you a title shot?

Woodley and Lawler were both on losing streaks and clearly shot at the time he fought them. That leaves 40 year old Maia and RDA. Which I consider good wins but how on earth does beating those guys 5 years ago merit a number one ranking today?

And his show money went up 10X-15X from his early days, he's got 2 title fights with PPV money and he's currently ranked as the #1 contender. This isn't the olympics. What about the term SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS do you not understand?
WWE fans ruined MMA. Instead of wanting the best to fight the best, they'll rather they engage in useless outside the ring gimmick in the name of "sports entertainment" to determine who's qualified for a titleshot.
