What will Amanda Nunes' legacy be if she loses to Julianna Pena again?

Will she still have a very good claim to be the women's GOAT? Will she have to share the GOAT status with Valentina? Should Julianna be considered one of the GOATs too?

To casuals it will mean "oh she was never that good", to actual fans that understand styles make fights, you already know anyone can be beaten by a certain style. Nunes is also at the end of her career and will retire soon win or lose, to become a coach. DC lost to Stipe twice at the end of his career, that doesn't mean everything he did gets called into question.

She was already neck and neck with Valentina, after the first loss I think most would say Valentina, after a second loss it's 100% Valentina.
Yeah because Valentina beat everybody on Nunes’ resume. Including the previous undisputed divisional and in the eyes of most mma watchers.. The overall wmma GOAT (Cyborg) or Ronda.. Go ahead and pick one.

Nobody in wmma has the wins Nunes does. We don’t have to worry about different weights, or different eras. These women actually fought eachother and common opposition.

One of the Greatest of her Era?

DC was 41 though when he lost those fights while Amanda is only 33.

My personal opinion, she's already the GOAT. She's achieved a lot in the women's division. Two weight champion, multiple defences etc.

Yes she lost to Pena but it was bound to happen someday. Look at Anderson Silva, he's still considered one of the GOATs despite the losses.

Even if Nunes loses, it's not going to affect her legacy one bit. There's always a time when the next up and comer will dethrone the champ.

Same thing I was telling Quietus above: Anderson Silva lost all those fights due to his advanced age. Amanda is only 33...

I don’t know but maybe thr UFC shouldn’t keep hyping every woman that wins more than 5 fights in a row as the greatest of all time.
And that compares to holding and defeating all comers at two different weight classes for several fights??

Are you really that out of touch with reality?

Like the UFC doesn’t do that for males either? Go watch the lead up to Stipe vs Ngannou the first time. Or the lead up to Jan vs Izzy. Wmma has nothing to do with it.

It’s actually hilarious that the UFC bet wrong on both fights.

Anyone can have an off night. If Amanda’s legacy is ruined, though, so are those of everyone she beat including Val <Lmaoo>

Yeah but she's had three losses on the international stage and if she loses again then that makes it four including two in a row to the same opponent who, unlike her and Val, is not considered a GOAT. That's the point I was making. It wouldn't be just an off night.
