not sure if we had this discussion before.

Actually, we probably had a long time ago, but who gives a shit.

Does Sherdog agree with Mike Tyson’s opinion?

Both of these guys are polarising figures so you won't ever get a straight answer.

Idiots will tell you Floyd carried Conor. Not the case. He took a while to figure him out. Conor did great things that night. Was a great performance.

STFU Tyson, clearly his brain doesn't work properly.

Is Floyd now better than Ali? Fuck off Mike.

I mean people who think Floyd actually carried him has no idea what they are watching. Just because it took Floyd awhile to analyze the situation and decided to pick up as he goes doesn't mean he "carried" him. He just knew Conor is a fast starter and his best chances of victory is taking into the later rounds due to Conor's size/suposed "punching power" which didn't translate too well to boxing in which Floyd found out after a couple exchanges when he decided to end it. If Floyd could finish it early, he definitely would have. Conor was fast, dangerous, and confident in those first 3 rounds.

This forum celebrates people's failures and hates success outside of whatever fighter they're living vicariously through.

I expect this thread to be filled with quick excuses as to why both Conor and Tyson are dumb and why they unfairly achieved success.

If I agree with tyson he’s the man. Iron fuckin Mike. If I don’t, he’s fuckin high af (and so overrated bro).

I think the whole carrying narrative is way overblown.
Look, Conor did alright for what he is in MMA. The guy won a few rounds, but Floyd was never in any danger in that fight.
You gotta give credit for these two putting on a decent fight at least.

Idk why people get so sensitive about this event. It was a spectacle sure, but anyone who knows anything about combat sports is that this fight was a massive cash grab. It really had no significance on either of their legacies.
The only thing I'm pissed about is how Dana/The UFC took half of Conor's purse for this fight. Wtf.

When the fight got announced and made the exact prediction

FLOYD via tko 11th after sitting back and doing nothing for the first few rounds then finally waking up and toying with him before finishing him up

The fight was nothing but a huge payday for Floyd which is why he came out in a balaclava

lol

anyone who thinks Floyd didnt carry conor is a retard who knows f all about business or boxing
conor had no chance
the same if it was the other way

conors boxing is so ridiculous thats he dodging jake paul (he'd make more against jake than floyd if the ufc dont take 50% of his shares this time)

2 amatuers going at it

Also tyson the retard said ronda has great boxing
give tyson a $ and he'll say anything

lmao

you're such a casual
did you ever watch floyd box before?
styles make fight too
it that was pacquiao
conor would have been twitching in 2

the fight was nothing but a wwe event
from the start to the end
the only winner was Floyd who made the easiest 100m and dana white who took 50% of conors purse minus the brain damage

You can say what ever you want but Conor landed a hell of an uppercut in the 1st round that even surprised Floyd. I don’t care what anyone says, Floyd didn’t “carry” Conor, he played it slow and conserved his energy for the later rounds knowing Conor would gas. Floyd wasn’t risking 49-0 on being a nice guy and carrying Conor for the fans. Floyd played it as safe as he could while securing the win.

Mike Tyson was a great great fighter.

That said, I wouldn’t pay attention to anything he has to say about anything, dude’s not playing with anything close to a full deck.

Still love him tho

Floyd Mayweather: 'I Carried' Conor McGregor to Make Fight 'Look Good for Y'all' Undefeated boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr. said he "carried" UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor in their August boxing match to make it "look good for y'all."

Floyd figured him out quick. It didn't take 10 rounds to do it. It's once Floyd switched it up and started walking him down was when Floyd figured him out already. He didn't necessarily carry him, but he was still cautious coming in and wanted to wait until later rounds to really try to finish him. Once he saw Conor stumbling around and could barely stand from exhaustion is when he really went for the kill. Floyd plays it safe in his fights. He didn't want to risk getting caught with something so he slowly kept draining Conor with a high guard and walking him down and picking shots here and there. He had him figured out by the 4th round.

Props to Conor for taking that challenge though. Not many would if they were in the same position that Conor was in.
