People intuit what they think regardless. But as far as I know, it's all guesswork at this point.Lol what? Khabib may have been heavier in between fights because he has terrible diet discipline and gets really fat, but in terms of frame and pure muscle georges was way bigger, especially on fight night. Khabib looked the same size or smaller than most his opponents on fight night
Interesting.
Please present a source where Josh Thomson said khabib was 190+ on fight night. I’ve heard Josh Thomson say several times that he gets 185-190+ in between fights (again he gets fat in between fights) but never that he weighs anywhere near that much during fight night.People intuit what they think regardless.
I’m not sure if we know this to be true. In terms of information, GSP was 190 on fight night when he fought at middleweight, according to his coach.
I’ll never forget Josh Thompson saying on fighter and the kid that Khabib is 190+ on fight night. He was his head coach at the time.
The part I bolded is basically irrelevant. I'm not saying Khabib's greatness was weight related. Kevin Lee was a massive LW and missed weight quite a bit but it didn't translate into dominant, consistent performances like Khabib so I don't think that's even an argument that he was great because he was big. Please present a source where Josh Thomson said khabib was 190+ on fight night. Khabibs weight advantage is overplayed. Dustin himself (a former fw) said that khabibs weight and strength was nothing special, the way he uses his legs and leverage in his body was special
We’re remembering the same source and thread, Josh on tfatk said khabib walks around at that weight in between fights and at the beginning of camp which makes sense because he gets really chubby and eats everything. It’s just a different argument than him being that weight in the cage which would make him a weight bully. The part I bolded is basically irrelevant. Would Khabib have had tougher matches at WW? That will always be a question. When you miss weight a bunch of times, people will speculate that you are cutting for an advantage and there will be that thought in people's head about how it would have gone at WW. If Khabib had never missed weight, this wouldn't be as often a discussion.
The fact that GSP is basically the WW goat and here you have a guy who has been around both and says "well, weightclass aside, GSP is smaller".
This discussion has been brought up before, and it will continue. It is what it is.
The source is fighter and the kid and it was pre-title if I recall correctly. There were threads about it at the time but as always, people who hated khabib instantly agreed and fanboys disputed because what would his coach know?
