Stipe vs. Black Beast for the Interim is perfect

I was just thinking to myself "what we need is another interim belt at HW... Especially with two guys with recent losses against the previous champ/challenger"

Fuck man, Heavyweight is so fucked... The original division, the former flagship of MMA...

Hurts me to see it in this state.

The fight is pointless for Stipe, as he has nothing to gain from it and if by any slim chance he losses, it'll hurt his legacy bad. If he is to fight, he'll probably fight either Gane or Jones. If Jones is to fight ever at HW (I don't think Jones wants to face anyone but Stipe anyways).

I don't think Goof is making another HW interim soon after his interim champ was beaten by one-legged Ngannou.

We don't really have a choice. Ngannou is injured and out until his contract expires. Then he's a free agent.

Painful, right?

10 years ago this wouldn't have been the problem that it is now. 20 years ago and they'd have just done a tournament and it would have been awesome.

Currently we're looking at some washed up and slain victims fighting for a pointless belt that they will inevitably lose at the worthless unification with no contenders to follow.

Bad times.

Just this thought is disrespectful to the GOAT.

But yeah not to say these latest interim titles have been meaningless they aren't, they've went to deserving fighters and I think they count but it's reaching a point where it's 100% political and not about the champs inactivity. Torn between wanting Jones to fight soon and thinking the UFC should just have a normal HW title fight once Ngannou leaves.

Stipe wants a title shot but doesn’t deserve one without winning a fight.

Black beast has never fought Stipe.

Ngannou is injured.

It’s just perfect
both Stipe and BB lost their last fight.
You want them to fight for a belt.

How is this any perfect???
Forget perfect... how is this any logical?

You had a very good prediction of Gane meteoric rise back 2019 I believe, that's impressive.
yeah, when I saw him destroy a guy I was pretty high on at 2-0, I knew he was the real deal.

Jones must be scratching his head over this situation. He is next in line by all accounts but if he's waiting for a big one-and-done mega fight, does he want to do that for the interim? If he fights for the interim and wins, there's a decent chance that he faces Ngannou next. I really don't think he wants that. Ideally, two relative chumps or has beens would fight for the interim, Ngannou would leave the UFC, and Jones could then challenge someone a little more beatable for the legit championship. Otherwise, he will be sidelined for another year and a half minimum If he doesn't fight the interim and Ngannou re-signs with UFC.

Nothing he's not a goat.

Though intrestingly in Bellator he's like 1 fight away from a title shot.
Your blasphemous ways will not get a rise out of me, but I will pray to the JBG for your wicked soul.

If he won Bellator HW sherdog would implode.

Same. I will pray to JBJ for your wicked soul.

I mean he had to do this before with OSP. And OSP was by far the lowest profile fighter he's fought since he won the belt.
