There is a reason Mayes tapped for the heel hook: he was losing 30-26 at 10s of the final bell.
He had the choice to lose 30-26 and his knee, or to lose via submission. literally zero reason to resist it.

Ngannou was never going to tap for a heel hook in such a high stake fight when was 3min away from victory. He entered the fight with a torn knee already.

He gives Ciryl 10 days to rest before putting him back in. He called two big wrestlers from Dagestan, with arms as big and long as Jones' and Francis' and he will make Ciryl suffer.
