Corner Translators are Consistently Wrong and Aburpt - With Real Video

Gane's coaches are getting flack for only telling him that "it's impossible" multiple times as translated by the French translator.

His coach was giving him advice, telling him he was losing to fight and that he has the cardio to win this fight. He said it was impossible for him to be tired as a way to motivate his fighter who appeared to be mentally breaking.

The translator translated it as "it's impossible." two or three times and that's it.

Why are they hiring people who are not doing their job correctly? A French speaker doesn't seem that hard to find. You can tell the translator had only knew basic English and didn't have the ability or speed to translate correctly. It's embarrassing for the UFC. I get having to settle for some rare language but it's French for fucks sake.

I see it with Spanish, which I can understand. Also in boxing broadcasts. The interpreter often translates like just 2 or 3 random words out of entire sentences or motivational speeches. It must be harder than it seems because I've seen this consistently in different orgs.

They need to hire Firas for French translating. He speaks enough engrish without any accents. He also understands fighting terminologies. I don't think people who translate as a job and don't follow mma will understand the nuances.

Plus live TV can already be hectic, now increase that because it's an MMA fight. There's probably so much going that I can understand why it would be difficult. Things are way more chaotic than they seem to the viewer at home.

I don't buy this. The problem is they hire translators who are not truly bilingual and are clearly not professional translators. It's often a team member who has the best broken English doing it. Being able to speak fluent English is just as important as the language they are translating.

I was going to elaborate. Overall I agree with you. The interview translations are less forgivable than the corner translations. I can understand why those would be difficult, but they do need better translators.

They had a couple good ones like the Japanese lady with the pens, she seemed like a pro and that guy that use to translate for most of the Brazilian fighters. Haven't seen him in a while.

I see it all the time from the portuguese translators as well, although I really don't envy that job.
It's one thing to translate the post-fight interview, another thing is to translate the corner instructions, that's hard as fuck.

Seriously just hearing that thick 4th grade accent should be a red flag. We are notoriously bad at English but come on, that's shameful. Of course the translator can speak French but if he can't speak English that's pretty useless lol.
