Take a guy like Francis with his raw physical talent and incredible punching ability. How would he have done in the early UFCs with legends like Royce, Shamrock, Tank, Frye, Severen, Kimo etc.? Could he have won it all?

He would absolutely demolish everybody. However what would this mean exactly? What kind of training would he have had back then? If you're implying Francis with his current skills.. even though he isn't known as the most technical guy he is still way beyond most fighters from that era because of modern training knowledge. Now let's say his only training was boxing and he had zero ground skills, who knows he might get taken down and submitted. Ngannou with any form of grappling knowledge though wrecks everybody.

This is actually one of nerdy/guilty pleasure thought exercises lmao. Taking modern fighters and wondering how they'd do teleported back to UFC 1 and shit.

But yeah, I feel like even OG Francis would do remarkably well (more people than Stipe tried to take him down after all, Miocic was just the only one who could make it stick). Francis 2.0 probably goes like 50-0 with a near 100% finish rate to become the first GOAT of the sport until he gets old enough that his physical attributes fade.
