The Rickson/Conrat warmup routine isn't bad

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Rickson started it from taking it from Capoeira, then Ido Portal started doing it, then Conrat did it in the press for the MayMac farce fight.

I accidentally started doing this warming up before doing pushups, and it isn't a bad way to stretch out and warmup. Boxers just think it's funny because it's unconventional.

I love making fun of Ido Portal stuff but seems like a good workout to be honest. Some sherdoggers have tried it out apparently and it makes you really fit but is pretty costly.

Ido is incredibly legit. Anyone associated with Conor got crap, and many of it unfair too - like calling John Kavanagh “Irish Edmund”. No one got more of it than Ido, who legit is probably the greatest movement coach on the planet. I actually wish Conor got back to him vs becoming the stiff orthodox fighter he became after the Mayweather fight - on top of his stance changing, there is video of him getting lit up by cans in the gym and fighters that would not be able to hit blades stances flowy Conor. I’ve noticed tho some Portal fighters have cardio issues after being fast starters (eg Lando), likely from concentrating on short explosive movements, so perhaps working in breathing exercises or cardio may balance it out?

Rickson was way ahead of the curve and probably still is by today’s standards in regards to a lot of preparation, like breathing. Things like breathing and movement are huge components that many over look.

Ido Portal Conor was the best Conor

Ido portal method is kinda jenky. It's "safe" capoeira with added gymnastics stuff for hipsters. Some people do get "good" with it but they are putting 4-8 hours a day into it. It's not a method for training anyone from the ground up.

I am trying to remember where he got his initial following from. I think it was crossfit. He has a dynamic personality that generates fans. I think some people seek the validation of a person who doesn't care much about them and think it is progress or love.

Conor is such a tool. Makes me ashamed to have Irish blood pumping through my body. I can't wait until he gets his ass beat again in his next fight and is hopefully sent packing. Such a a little dork.

Ido got a bad rap,but OF COURSE being able to move better can help in fighting. That is a fucking no brainer.

It's a basic loosening shoulders/arms warmup routine to start off training. The motion is open to ridicule tho. Looks like a toddler having a seizure. It's definitely not a revolutionary routine he hints at in those interviews. It won't sweep the nation.

Flowy touchbutt Conor was probably his best version. Nate killed the dream but it was interesting while it lasted.
