The Magny fight is the most pointless one for Khamzat right now

He just made #11 look like a tomato can, but while Magny also dominated the Leech, he still put a fair struggle and survived with not much difficulties.
But the main point is that Magny gets steamrolled by almost every top dude he faces, Maia and undersized RDA ran trough him in one round. Ponzi scheme KO’d him silly, Chiesa got the better of him, and even in the Neal fight he don’t look evolved from the Magny of those losses.
Khamzat would steamroll him very fast, probably a Round 1 Sub.

The only upwards for him to that fight is to add a new record for least damage taken in 5 UFC fights. They need to feed him at least some top 5 at least, like Burns or Colby.

Khamzat is fighting Covington, no?

Magny is a weird fighter. He beats people that are suppose to steam roll him and underperform against competitive fights.
But the grand majority of the times he gets steam rolled against the people that were suppose to steam roll him.

It's natural progression for Khamzat and they should book it, hype machine be damned. Khamzat is obviously a good fighter but he's never faced adversity or had to answer tough questions. He will more than likely beat Magny but he's got to earn the other fights ahead of him in my opinion. No hate to Khamzat.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Khamzat have an adrenaline dump and lose an uninspiring decision to Neil after he pummels him or him just running through Neil. Anything can happen in MMA.

Isn't it great that we book fights based on ElCasca thoughts of, "who would they probably steamroll with a first round sub"

If a fight is right to make, but everyone "knows" who will lose, you still book the fight and watch them lose. Just like how we all watched Julianna get beaten down last weekend

Even if it is a blowout win for Khamzat, the fact that people are acting like it's beneath him is laughable. Magny is a solid vet with a top ten ranking coming off of a win over a tough opponent.

If none of the top 5 guys agree to fight Khamzat, it's perfect for him.

No he doesn't. It only happened with RDA and Maia. Look at who he loses and wins to. He often loses when he is the favorite and wins when he is the underdog. https://www.bestfightodds.com/fighters/Neil-Magny-3807
Larkin Ponz Cheisa he was the favorite.
Lombard, Gastelum, Erik Silva, Jing, Condit, Neal, Hendricks and much more earlier in his career were all fights that he was the underdog. He pretty much made his whole career on upsetting the favorite.

I think it's perfect for him anyway. I'm not trying to be negative toward Khamzat and he may prove it worthwhile but the hype is almost unbearable. The guy could get clipped, gas out meeting adversity, have a crap cut and whatnot. Again, MMA is ridiculously unpredictable. I prefer guys like him work his way up. Everyone bitched about someone like Conor getting easy matchups on the way to the top and not earning it or gimme fights in Bellator. Step by step for Khamzat please.

He's about 50/50 in underdog fights. People thought that he'd get killed by Erick Silva, Kelvin, Hendricks, Lombard and Neal.
iirc the Hendricks and Lombard fights were pretty 50/50, they were already noticeably worse and Lombard was coming off some roids suspension.
He was deffo supposed to lose against Kelvin and Neal tho.

Everyone knows until they don't.

UFC shows no interest and according to Ali back when he was manager the hold-up was the UFC and Magny's team...

Take it for what it's worth, I'm not digging the interview or tweet back up again...

Mind I like and would gladly take the match but I think that boat never even left dock...

I dunno. Magny is mad unreliable. It's a fight he really COULD win, and do so well. But if he doesn't. It could look like he should have never been in there.
