They can fight at 170 lbs Welterweight, without the LW belt on the line.
Similar to Conor's Nate Diaz and Cerrone fights. Poirier actually wanted to fight Conor at 170 lbs in the third fight as well, but it didn't happen.
Oliveira gets his money fight and Conor can talk about fighting a champion again, and if Conor wins, he wouldn't get the LW belt.
Nate beat Conor while Conor was still the 145 lbs Featherweight champ, Nate didn't become the FW champ. If Conor wins against Oliveira at 170 lbs, Conor would get a very shiny win but he wouldn't get the belt, and LW division can keep moving quickly without Conor getting an undeserved title shot.
