You think he'll stick around to defend against Islam and Gaethje if he were to defy the odds and beat Charly Olives?

He'll just hold the division up again and try to box.

The UFC put up with that in the past but Conor has less pull now they're trying to distance themselves from the Triller's of the world by putting on freakshow fights because giving more power to the Jake Paul's of the world is the last thing they want to do. This isn't the Fertitta era anymore. ESPN and Ari run the show now.

Conor fighting anyone will net them around the same dough. Olives may hold a title but he's not a name. A Diaz rematch will sell more.

I say they tell Conor to kindly fuck off with his snake oil proposition to fight Olivera knowing he'll fight again anyway without them having his name sully their title. At best they give him an easy fight or two (which let's face it he'll probably lose) to make bank off him before they offer him a ts. If he loses those fights they don't give a shit either because he'll be back trying to get a rematch.

Did we really need another thread on this? Couldn't have just put it in the big one that was merged? Lol

They don't give a fuck about belt holder defending belts. they want to sell content to ESPN. they already have a contract through 2205 or whatever and just had their best year ever. Defending belts and holding the division up (like Ngannou did this year by ducking Lewis and Gane) doesn't stop the UFC from selling content. If Mcgregor is still selling PPV's, and he agrees to reasonable compensation they'll give him a title shot.

If they could have him fight for it without too much backlash i still think they would. This is a numbers game afterall, but right now no one, including fighters would be happy with an instant ts, and I doubt even UFC wanna deal with that. Guys like Islam and Gaethje would fucking riot big time. But one single win against even Nate, and he got it for sure.

The Nate fight would make more $ anyway.

Conor will sell. Conor as champ will sell more. Conor as champ vs Nate sells even more. This is pretty easy TS, so you're kinda blowing it with this thread. Just sayin.

Conor has never defended a title and never will.

And you think the UFC will not only gift Conor a titleshot, and then gift Nate freakin Diaz his first defence and forget about the rest of the division?

lol Right

Maybe or the george fight.

But knowing how fans are they'll still make good money regardless who he fights next even if Conor fought Eddie Wineland.

Careful you dont give UFC an idea.

McGregor vs Wineland PPV Headliner 2022.

BOOK IT DANA!

Anyone that beats Conor instantly becomes a star. If Islam is the killer the UFC thinks he is, they should angle at a fight between him and Conor. If Islam is going to end up the champ, they want him to be as marketable as possible and that would come from a win against Conor. Beating Conor was the greatest thing to ever happen to Nate and Dustin.

Dustin never really became a star.

I think the effect is wearing off, though Islam and Conor would sell big with Khabib in his corner.

Beating Conor is not really seen as a big achievement at this point more of a formality.

That's a long ass contract, my dude.

He's not boxing again while under UFC contract. No UFC fighter will be boxing while under contract. Dana won't allow it since he doesn't think his fighters will beat the top level boxers and it's bad for the brand of UFC to keep losing to boxers. Conor will only do boxing after he fights out of his UFC contract.

They want Conor as champ even if he loses the belt. They can maximize off him and him being champion they can extend his contract with the champions clause. Conor is still the biggest star in mma/UFC and no one else comes close. His fights will still be the biggest possible fights UFC can make. They definitely want him as the champ.

You're overthinking the obvious you little twit and now you're acting like a dick. Pipe down you little twit, and grow some thicker skin if you're going to throw out stupid opinions like that. If you think for one second the UFC doesn't want Connor on top, you're a moron. Also: grow a pair.
