News Poirier first tweet after the fight

Love Poirier but don't think he cares that much about the belt after two massive panty nights. It was a lot different in 2019 when he lost to Khabib (before panty nights)

No fucking way he retires. Conor fight would be huge money for him . Doubt he goes to 170 unless Diaz fight or something .

Still don't get why many don’t like this guy. He had some big moments in round one. He was on a phenomenal run of wins and was a part of some great wars. He's a great guy. He was part of that exciting fight. He donated money to a charity of Olives' choice after the loss. He didn't complain about the glove grab and make excuses, which he easily could have whether you think it merited it or not. Respect on his name.

Poirier is a great competitor and philanthropic guy. Hope he stays in for awhile

I mean, Dustin is good enough to become champ still, he can absolutely beat Oliveira if the night is right and he could easily beat anyone else in the top 10 who isn't Islam or Dariush.

I'd rather see him keep going but if he feels it's his time then I wish him the best.

Idk about that. He was pretty emotional at the post fight press conference.

Don’t blame him if he goes for McTapper round 4 or just retires.

I would like to see him fight Conor one more time, just to clear up the controversy. And one final huge payday wouldn't hurt either.

Doesn't sound like retirement, sounds like he just lost a title fight.

If he does retire, where is everybody shitting on him and saying he's ducking the sport? He'd be retiring the same age as Khabib, and both turned pro at the same age.
