based on the loss of Nunes are losers. If your chosen fighters are so great, then they shouldn't need someone else's loss to elevate them. Cyborg? Lost. Shevchenko? Lost. Twice.

Nunes' loss to Pena doesn't erase the record.

Honestly the huge Valentina fan in me wants val to come up to 135 for a superfight with Pena and take the double champ status over.

Dont care about Cyborg or Shev being potetially greater than Nunes, but its not even about Nunes losing, its the way she lost. She looked absolutely terrible and Pena didnt even looked much better tbh.

I’d love to see Pena defend against Valentina some time next year. That is definitely the fight to make. The 145 division can be scraped now since it’s just a waste of money. The only high level fighter in that division besides Nunes is Germaine who might have been cut, then they have spencer and Ladd, who are not particularly champ material

Shevchenko is smaller and the second 'loss' was a split decision that's exactly 50/50 media (and more than 60%+ in her favour in fan scores). If we're talking nonsense abstractions such as 'p4p' and 'GOAT', those things carry a lot of weight when weighing up the 'loss' (i.e. it's not a binary 1-0 'she lost lol Nunes pwnz her fo' life' thing, but a 'it was a dead heat against a bigger fighter' thing). And she's obviously more skilled. So....................

& yes losing to a hobo-brawler like Pena does diminish your 'greatness' considerably. Which in turn causes your rival's 'greatness' to rise relative to yours. So.............

One fight doesn’t disqualify you from being the best or qualify you for the title either.
If you thought Amanda was the best ever yesterday, one loss shouldn’t change your mind.

And people need to stop calling fighters the GOAT when they are in the middle of their careers.

Losers is a strong word but you are right.
Fans do this all the time, like when tony finally lost suddenly it was like khabib beat him himself.
Conor fans are the worst everytime Dustin or max or aldo win they treated it like conor was winning all those fights because he beat them one time.
Or the who's best LHW glover won the title but Cory Anderson gets praised like he did something besides get ktfo by Jan.

Just not a fan of kicking fighters when they are down.

Unless we are talking about soccer kicks, knee and stomps, in which case I am a big fan.

I hear ya man, I posted in another topic : here comes the “Nunes was never that good” squad.

a classic ridiculous Sherdog thing.

valentina has always been the uncrowned goat

We knew it the second it happened. It was most certainly brought up in the pbp.

In a general sense, it shouldn't mean anything in terms of respect. Obviously all these champions should get complete respect.

But when Valentina is a noticeable smaller woman, had two competitive and one very competitive fight with someone who just lost to someone in her weight class, it can mean something in terms of P4P, especially when Valentina is mowing through women in her weight class with zero resistance.

LOL, I don't think TS understands how Hierarchies work. If someone on top goes down a notch, it of course elevates everybody else.

Nunes made the same bully-brain mistake Cyborg did against her, and even worse she quit (choke wasn't even in). It's unimaginable that Val would ever perform this poorly--she's undisputed GOAT now. She never really lost the "fight" to Nunes, she just ran out of time against the MUCH bigger opponent in the first fight (no way she loses if that was a 5 rounder), and was robbed in the 2nd fight.

Vals only clear loss she avenged in dominate fashion. Has Nunes avenged any of her 5 losses? Nope.

IMO Nune's mentality has always been somewhat suspect, her pulling out of the 2nd fight with VAL last minute with no valid excuse seemed like nerves... Her being unwilling to give Cyborg a rematch was also suspect.

I hope she can come back from this and wipe that question away and reclaim her throne, but she has questions to answer.
