Chin stuck in the air, while having no real power to keep him off of you. Mediocre leg kick defense and it’s gonna be a UD this time around. There’s nothing that makes me believe Volk doesn’t play with him again.

While I agree that Volk probably beats him again, I wouldn't say Volk toyed around with him lol. Max is a tough out for Volk.

Holloway is amazing, but anyone with a brain can see that he's at his peak, if not a few degrees past it. I doubt he's going to improve from here, in terms of his overall competitive ability. Nonetheless, one of the greatest talents inside the octagon. Nothing to be ashamed of for this guy.

That's why Max wants money fights at LW now while his stock is still high. He doesn't want to have volk cut him down again before he gets a big ass payday against conor.

You bitch lol, this is Max slander and I agree with ya haha

In all seriousness, credit to Yair because he came to play, but I was hoping Max would REALLY put on an impressive performance that would warrant ANY kind of confidence in how a 3rd fight would go, but unfortunately that's not the case. It wasn't even the 3rd round and I think he ate 37 Leg Kicks....THIRTY.....SEVEN
<6>

Yeah he was fine and pushed on, but he's lucky Yair couldn't challenge him enough in the grappling nor in the counter punching, areas Volk has shown he doesn't have a problem with. I love Max and will always root for him, but tonight was telling on how a 3rd fight would go, and I lean Volk. Max is gonna be the underdog and for good reason, and I've never brought into the "Max won the 2nd fight" BS either. Volk showed he wanted it more, and outworked him in 3, 4, and 5, Max took his foot off the gas, and thought he could bank on 10-8's that weren't gifted in the first 2 rounds with those Knockdowns.

This is a bit of a stretch. I thought he won the last but I'll have to rewatch it, I remember thinking volk was in more danger than him most of the time. They're close enough to each other that either could beat the other based on a bit of luck.

They're the only two fighters that warrant a trilogy imo

Personally, I think Max should have dedicated himself to a move up to LW immediately after he lost to Volk the second time. Now him and the whole fw division is in a weird limbo.

I think Valentina has the biggest case for a trilogy. Unlike Max, I think she won the second fight and would win a third fight.

i thought he won both fights

Volk clearly won the 1st and the 2nd was razor razor thin. that's not an argument for a trilogy. this isn't Paquiao vs Marquez.

Max is in a difficult situation. He beats any other guy but he’s also getting older, worn out and cannot fight the champ a third time. He also knows what’s in store for him if he moves up. Max is way too scrawny and weak for lw but even if he solved that issue, his rockem sockem style of who can absorb more punches to the face will not work at lw against guys who hit much harder.

I forgot about Valentina. I actually thought she lost both (takedown at the end got it for nunes imo) but it was close enough that I'd watch a trilogy.

Why can't there be a trilogy if Max earns it? Even if they fought and Volk beats Max again and then Max goes on a 5 fight win streak I'd even watch a 4th. The matchup is close enough to be interesting because either fighter could take it. Unlike say Colby/Usman, where 1 person is clearly better

People don’t realize how many adjustments Holloway made in the 2nd fight as a result of the 1st fight and how Volkanovski came with his own adjustments and adjusted to Holloway’s adjustments mid-fight

Seriously, this fight is intriguing despite how undeserving Holloway is of a rematch. Ideal scenario is Holloway loses for the 3rd time and goes & stays at lightweight for the rest of his career. Featherweights got a ridiculous amount of contenders waiting in the wings
