Wasn’t Adesanya vs Whittaker rematch supposed to happen?

What happen? There were talks of rematch few months back when they both beat Vettori and Gastelum then the news seems to disappear.

First fight was such a rout, that im not too interested in a rematch. But division is pretty weak, so i guess.theres not really anyone else

Yeah Rob pretty much owned everyone since then

Yeah, and he seems pretty honest about his short comings in their first fight, especially about his mindset and that he played Izzy's game, which I expect him not to do as much in their rematch because of that.

robs always taking time off for injuries / family. is normal.

Whittaker ducking and faking injuries

Nothing new for him sadly

Adesanya is the one that pushed the fight back cause he didn't want to have to wait to get back into New Zealand. Whittaker wanted it sooner.

And yeah the guy that's fought 10 top 10 guys in a row is a ducker.

He thought Izzy was a hype job because of the Kelvin fight and ran into the wood chipper.

I expect the fight to be a lot closer, but don't think that Whittaker's wrestling game is the silver bullet. The Vettori fight showed that Izzy's ground game is quite functional when he's not outweighed by 25 lbs in the cage.

Really can't see what whittaker has for izzy. just see him getting finished again, but he might last a bit longer. Even though that's not too much of a statement because izzy virtually finished him in the first and just made it official in the second, I could see rob being a bit more passive and making it to the 4th or 5th round.

I wouldn't call the division weak though, I think a lot of them are competitive amongst each other but Izzy is a clear step above the rest of this current middleweight division. this rematch is the right match to make match making wise, but I just can't call Whittaker a good matchup against Izzy, IMO Izzy has the right tool set specifically to beat whittaker.
