What's the worst losing streak that a good fighter has come back from?

Out of curiousity, i'm wondering if there's any good UFC quality guys who have overcome some long losing streaks and managed to get their career back on the upward trajectory. I think we often see guys bounce back after 3 losses in a row, but I struggle to think of any good ufc guys who have overcome a longer loss streak than that and then went on to put a winning record together.

I guess roxanne modaferri lost six in a row once, then put some wins together and came back to have a reasonably respectful gatekeeper career in the UFC. Can you guys think of anyone?

I don't know about consecutive losses but Robbie had a skid in Strikeforce and then turned it around to win the WW title.

Arlovski too in SF but he won no title.

He never lost more than 2 in a row back then. He recently lost 4 in a row and broke that losing streak by beating diaz, but I wouldn't call that a sign of turning his career around-- moreso just a step down in competition and a shot Diaz.

He definitely still had a respectable comeback, but I'm looking for guys who had to overcome long losing streaks.

It's tough to think of many of them. I was going to say Anthony Smith seems to be going in that direction but he honestly only lost two back to back they just happened to be tough losses. But they were to elite competition. So he certainly doesn't fit the bill.

I look at someone that I think is one of the top WMMA fighters at 115 though- Tecia Torres. I've always been a fan. She hit this skid in the UFC where she lost four in a row. But I think you had to view it with an asterisk. Absolute murderer's row- Andrade, Weili Zhang, Joanna Jedrzejczk, Marina Rodriguez I imagine most strawweights going through those four fighters would end up 0-4. (Namajunas being all the more impressive in that she beat three of them).

She has since looked in very sharp form and has rattled off three victories in a row.

Hunto was on a 6 fight losing streak and fighting for his job against Tuscherer

From 2011-17 he went 8-4-1-1 with wins over Lewis, Kongo, Bigfoot, Murr, Roy, Struve, Rothwell

Was tied 1-1 with Reem going into the 3rd. Was up 1-0 against Werdum and stayed in his guard. FOTN with Junior despite breaking his foot early. Had a Bork on steroids backing up for an entire round and lost 2-1. He even won the 1st against Blaydes and nearly KOd him after dropping him twice. He also fought for the interim title and was involved in one of the GOAT HW fights with Bigfoot. He really only got blown out by Stipe was competitive with everyone else

And did all of this past his prime in his 40s while almost all of the fighters he fought popped or would pop for steroids or flagged by USADA

I think Arlovski's had like a 3-fight and 5-fight losing streak on his current UFC run alone.

Just checked - the Miocic loss started an 0-5 run of which he bounced back from with wins over Struve and then-hyped Albini. That followed an 0-3-1 NC run in which he realistically had a pretty good case for winning 3 of those fights (Tuivasa, Sakai and Harris), still a relatively big losing streak for someone who was just recently on a 5-fight slide though.

Hasn't lost consecutive fights since and has derailed more than one prospect on top of that. Not bad for a 42 yo man.

War Hunto!
Yah. War Hunto! Cool thread, focusing on those who are persistent. Hadn't thought much about some of the other ones mentioned. Like Torres going 0-4 against incredibly tough competition and then winning 3 in a row. There's gotta be others like that too so I'm interested in hearing about all of them. Like how many they lost in a row and then won in a row.
