UFC officials confirmed the news to MMA fighting on Tuesday.

A frequent bonus winner throughout his UFC career, Medeiros faced a long list of tough opponents during his tenure with the promotion that dated back to his debut in 2013 after previously competing in Strikeforce.

During his time with the UFC, Medeiros clashed with the likes of Dustin Poirier, John Makdessi, Alex Oliveira, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and Erick Silva. He earned a total of five post-fight bonuses including three for Performance of the Night and two for Fight of the Night.

Unfortunately, Medeiros had fallen on hard times lately after dropping his past four fights in a row, which led to his exit from the UFC.

Was always a good lower level gatekeeper. If you couldn't beat Yancy, you probably were not moving up the career ladder. Not trying to put the guy down- was a solid, if flawed fighter and always brought some good action. Not to trot out the "he's going to Bellator" bit, but I think there would be good fights for him there.

was a good scrapper... gave me difficulty in ea ufc 3

He is 33, young enough he could be able to have a good run somewhere else amd maybe even come back.

He hasnt won since 2017 and the last two guys who beat him were on losing streaks, its a fair cut. ONE or Bellator could have some fun fights for him.
