Oliveira, Dariush, or Islam will be the LW champions for the next 5 years, at least.

Convince me otherwise.

Poirier, Gaethje, RDA, Chandler, Tony, Hooker are great fighters but they don't have the ground game to compete with these. I intend on revisiting this thread again in 2026.

I’m not going to try to convince you of shit. I just think you’re delusional. I guess Islam could do it, if he fights once a year. But, nobody rules that division for more than a couple of years if they are active.

None of them will hold the belt for a long time

Very possible this statement is true. I could very well see these 3 guys trade the belt between each other over the next 5 years. Oliveira loses to Dariush. Dariush loses to Islam, Islam loses to Oliveira...back and forth.

5 years is a long time

I think Islam has a great chance, but I highly doubt he would defend more than Khabib. Enjoy his fights because he only has a few more.

Oliveira is the most complete and lethal finisher of the three, but Islam and Dariush are bigger and more physically imposing.

I see primarily stand up fighters like Dustin and Gaethje not looking as sharp on the feet vs these three.

You need to clarify, TS.

Are you saying one of those guys will hold the belt for 5 years straight or the belt will be held for 5 years among those three?

Lol, this could be beginning of an old "I Told You so" thread.

Either by TS or by posters to tell him he's wrong.
lol. If you think I’m keeping track of this thread for 5 years, you’re nuts.

All 3 at the same time? I don't doubt it, UFC is always innovating

This is what I'm saying: over the next 5 years, at any point in time, the LW champion will be Oliveira, Dariush, or Islam.

Have you ever seen an Oliveira or Dariush fight before Tony? It's far more likely that Tony isn't any good anymore than that they're the new best simply for beating him (or Chandler).

Poirier is the uncrowned champ, and is rightfully favoured to be crowned by the end of the year.

I thought the exact same thing while entering the thread.. It is an asinine claim.

Shit... it's possible.

He named 3 guys so it increases his chances. Islam is only 29 and Charles is 31.

Of course, if Dustin beats Charles, then TS is already wrong.
