Do you? Well he’s had about 13 UFC fights. Those guys weren’t afraid to fight him. Nobody other than DC came out and said they didn’t want to fight him. Well Jones is clearly ducking him but, whatever.

So now that he’s champ, he refuses to fight one of the two UFC fighters that beat him. The guy that is clearly the next in line. I wonder what is the take you have? Especially those people that were praying Stipe would lose the rematch so you’d get an “active champion”?

Well, he was offered a fight 2 months after taking no damage, and he refused. Okay, I can let that slide. But what about now? It appears your healthy “active” champ won’t defend for a year. And now they have to create an interim title.

Meanwhile you were all crying for Stipe to be stripped, after undergoing surgery, during a pandemic. But, Stipe always fought who the UFC said was next.

I can’t be the only person that remembers how this all went.

Won't defend for a year? NGannou fought 3 months ago.

He said he would fight Lewis but wanted september if I recall correctly.
They’re making an unnecessary interim title. When exactly do you expect him to fight? Next month, 3 months, 6 months.. Holy fuck, looks like creeping on a year. Your boy is garbage for refusing the number 1 contender. But try to play math games with me. That will work out well for you.

Sick of him already. I agree with Dana that his management is retarded, he is massively overestimating his worth. He has no idea how to market himself and has a personality as dull as a rock. Refusing to fight and trying to cherry pick fights, posting all over social media bad mouthing the ufc and fighter pay. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

Well depending on how Lewis-Gane unfolds, hopefully we can see Francis vs the winner before year's end.

It's 2021, and there are still morons letting Dana's opinion of a fighter determine whether they like them or not.

Why is that fight happening to begin with? Since the day Ngannou won the belt. Dana has said Lewis is next. The only proviso being that Jones could jump the line.

Please, anybody.. Explain to me like I’m 5 years old why there is a need to have an interim title fight when the champ is 100% healthy??

He said he wanted to fight in September, and the UFC couldn’t have Nunes headline a PPV, so they made this interim belt. Plus, Ngannou vs Gane is easier to sell than Ngannou vs Lewis 2.

You always make the most erratic, emotional and uniformed posts, just shut the fuck up. Stop being so dramatic about everything.

Quit lyin and cryin. You’re full of shit. Why can’t your boy defend? I remember when they offered him a 2 month turnaround. You all plead that it was too soon for your active champion. Fine, no problem. I couldn’t really argue that. But what’s the excuse now?

Yeah, I get it.

He agreed to fight Lewis in September as per his agent and Ariel, but UFC wanted him to fight in august and he refused.

The reasons why he declined the August date are unknown and only speculative as of now, but apparently he recently got back to US and just got back in the gym.

Stipe/DC held up the division for 3 years while Francis was #1 contender, I can’t blame him for wanting proper time to prepare, while he celebrated the biggest win of his career after waiting 3 years to get that shot.

Nobody can claim to 100% know whats going on except for those involved. The rest is just speculation, with that said it is strange that Francis is not willing to fight in August which is 5 months after he won and took pretty much no damage.

Makes you wonder if it has anything to do with Lewis being the opponent, a lot of fighters nowadays like to cherry pick in order to get the most money or the easiest fight for the highest pay or in this case it seems like Francis wants the bigger money/recognition fight against Jones. The problem is Jones doesn't want to do it without a nice bed of cash to fall back on in case he loses. We all saw how Francis fought against Lewis the first time, its possible there could be something psychologically that makes Francis nervous about Lewis. Could be the reason he'd prefer to fight someone else first, could definitely see why he'd prefer to get Jones first for his legacy and the higher pay. Lewis while he should lose to Francis, has the ability to end it at any moment even if he's losing and Francis knows that.

You need to turn your question around and ask it to yourself.

When do YOU expect him to fight?

Your logic is garbage for saying someone who just won the belt 3 months ago and said he's willing to defend at the 6 month mark is somehow inactive.
This thread is incredibly stupid.

I've not been following this at all, but feels like a only yesterday he knocked out Stipe.

If he wanted to fight in September, whats the problem? 6 month gap in title fights at HW is hardly unusual.

It does seem like his manager is out of his depth maybe?
