How can Swolkov goes from Masterfull performance against Overeem where he looks sensational in striking, pressure, precision and power to Gane where he did nothing but some leg kicks in the first ?

Volkov is super inconsistent. Go watch his last fight, high striking was unreal. One of the best displays of technical striking from a HW ever, BUT he also falls flat a lot.

Gane beat Volkov at the absolute peak of his powers who's also the 2nd most technical and a mega experienced heavyweight striker in his 9th pro fight, fighting about 95% of the fight from his weaker stance.

That's insanely impressive if you think about it.

Gane is gonna be champ soon imo....

Gane's going to do the exact same thing to every HW that stands with him.o_O

Gane is just that good. Almost no other heavyweight can win that type of fight against volkov without a lot of wrestling.

I think it's a combo of styles making fights and Overeem having degraded and neglected his striking.

Gane is super fast for a HW, has tons of variety, and also has very long arms. Volkov likes to fight at distance and use pinpoint long strikes but he is slow and methodical. The speed difference made it an awful style matchup for Gane.

Overeem has focused on grappling and wrestling the last few years and seems to have hugely regressed as a striker. He's also 41. I think that made Volkov's striking look more impressive than it is. He's still very good but not elite.

Volkov has lost only a single striking battle before this fight and that was the Lewis fight, where he got caught after absolutely demolishing Lewis.

That was a highly impressive performance from Ciryl tonight.

The fight was very close. I don’t know what you guys watched. And both guys had a poor performance that doesn’t raise either guys stock.

50-45 is awful judging. As bad as the commentating.
Gane was the one controlling the cage, pushing the pace, landing more. Volkov except in few exchange never advanced. 50-45 is fair, 49-46 is acceptable. Don't know what you sa tonight man

i ve said it before gane made a world class kickboxer with terrific power in rozenstruik look like and amateur and made a huge monster in Volkov look silly he s just that good

Gane lacks killer instinct but technically just an absolute stud on the feet, I don't think I've seen a heavyweight move as well as he does in the ufc ever. Volkov is damn good, that performance against Overeem was better than his usual tho. I thought Volkov was gonna be a much harder test, but he just controlled him almost the entire fight.
