ICYMI, Costa pulled out (again), and Kelvin stepped in against Jared

To my eye, Kelvin has looked like a shell of himself since the Izzy fight (probably due to the horrendous beating he took in the final round), and Jared is a good technical striker who hits crazy hard.

He still has an iron chin, as proven by him eating a flush flying knee from Heinisch and head kicks from Whittaker, but every chin has a shelf life.

I'd give Jared a 30% chance of being the first guy to shatter Kelvin's legendary Mexican chin

I don’t think he will lay Gastelum out, but Gastelum has been looking bad lately. He’s officially lost 4 out of 5 but I thought he lost the Jacare fight as well, which would make it 5 defeats in 6 fights.

Kelvin has taken so much damage lately that it's starting get scary.

Took an insane beating in the fifth round against Adesanya.

Took a five round schooling from Whittaker.

And in his one recent win, he got hit by a flying knee that would've KO'd most guys in the division.

no..

I'm expecting him to come in and wrestle like he did against Heinisch. Maybe try to avoid the power of Jared. But it's definitely possible

Cannon doesn't have an iron chin.
He got kod by Rayes and Shawn Jordan in the first round.

Wouldn't be at all shocked if Kelvin ended up being the hammer. Kelvin loves guys who want to throw power in the pocket. He's quick, and has great combinations. And that chin is rock solid. The two best MW's in the game today who are both striking specialists couldn't get him out of there within 25 minutes.
