Jacare, a multiple time ADCC and mundials world champ just got subbed by an unranked guy with no credentials, and Oliviera almost got subbed/could do nothing on the ground and had to resort to boxing to get the win.

I really feel this may be the final nail in the coffin for guys coming in from a BJJ background. Not to mention Rudolf Vieria got submitted recently, another black eye for BJJ's effectiveness in a modern day fight.

I think with champs like Khabib fighter's will start training in more of a sambo/wrestling hybrid instead of BJJ.

Jacare is like 80 you leave that kind old man alone

I dont even know how to start replying. But then i started assuming you are trolling. Are you?

It just shows that BJJ is so effective that every single fighter has to be decent at it in order to survive in this sport. It's not that elite bjj guys are getting worse, it's that the rest of the fighters are catching up.
Yep!

I could've sworn the guy who has the most submissions in UFC history just became the champ? And someone

If anything, someone subbing Jacare shows that BJJ is getting better.

Jacare got his arm broke (bjj) and Tony got his knee shredded (bjj), and both dudes are very good at bjj. Oliviera had the back and nearly finished (bjj), then Chandler reversed and escaped (bjj). But nah, you're right my dude.

Or perhaps BJJ has been proven once again? Jacare was subbed using what.....boxing?

Oliveira used his BJJ training to survive a typical wrestler headlock. Wrestlers and non wrestlers alike have been grabbing headlocks and squeezing since the first fist fight ever.
