He certainly could, but MJ has screwed the pooch against worse fighters than a diminished Cowboy. To put it like this, I see Morono as someone with less talent than MJ but better cage mentality.

I would envision MJ being absolutely dangerous to Donald within the first five. If Cerrone survives that, I think his prospects for winning go up significantly. MJ has a way of letting wins slip away from him.

I don't hate the idea of Michael Johnson vs. Cowboy but MJ is on a 4-fight losing streak so this would definitely feel like a loser-leaves-town match.

Given that MJ and Cowboy have both been around for a while and fought some names, they get a little more leeway than most fighters on the roster. If there's a possibility that both could win their next fight, would the UFC really want to match them up and guarantee that one will lose?
