After seeing Magny's last few performances and how lost Geoff looked on the feet tonight, it really makes you appreciate the skills of Ponzinibbio and wonder how far he could have went if he wasn't plagued with life threatening health issues that shelved him for 3 years.
He's been the only striker(IN THE PAST FEW YEARS) to effectively shut down Magny's game and give him more things to think about. He chopped at the legs constantly to stifle his movement, and when the time was right put his lights out going up top. Neal tonight wasn't cutting the cage off at all, and was constantly head hunting into a clinch tie up against the cage whereas Ponzi used that as an opportunity to go for his Legs which helped him tremendously when he went for the finish.
Ponzi showed a level of Fight IQ and understanding of Magny's defensive tendencies that if baffles me that a Striker like Neal didn't entertain going to the legs at all, it looks like he didn't even think about it, especially considering Magny hasn't shown that he's addressed that hole in his game.
