Good sentiment, but in reality those people just saw the value of the car as free money in road legal form. If they didn't have jobsi doubt they thought like that. I don't know about Lewis' family, but there are a lot of trashy, lazy people who like being trashy and lazy more than they enjoy the pride of making their own money and doing something even if it is as low on the pole as fast food. McDonald's and grocery stores are always hiring. If they can just get a fresh shower and look presentable for one afternoon and explain that they are trying to make a change in their life they might be able to get a job. Maybe it's not that easy though but I would imagine McDonald's would rather hire a motivated jobless person than some punk ass stoner kid.
