He need to get his Muay Thai and kickboxing on point and to resurrect his kicking game for that rematch.

He also needs to see it as a true mma match, that can last 5 rounds and go trough all the positions. Not a boxing exhibition that he will win in 2mn like the cowboy fight.

I don't know why he never steps foot outside SBG but it would definitely help him

Or he can just cruise along while still making millions of dollars with whoever they put in front of him.

His competitive days are over. He hardly seems like the type to stay hungry with a cool 100+ mil in the bank.

Conor likes being the best guy in the gym. Not sure he would like getting beat up in sparring at Kings.

There would probably my be so many people leaking footage of his training. Way more than his camp would be comfortable with.

I think he'd be better at a gym like Jackson where they have a strong emphasis on cardio and conditioning.

They turned an off the juice 1 round fighter like Overeem into a guy that could comfortably fight 5 rounds.

Good luck trying to force McGregor to to actual road work though. Plus he'd be terrified of Jones.

No chance a dude who likes the finer things in life and has been living like a king for a while go out of his comfort zone now.

He is what he is now. A pass prime striker with very little cardio

Is the rematch even official? I wouldn't be surprised if Conor decides not to fight again until next year and picks Diego Sanchez

Yes he definitely needs a change of training. Unfortunately judging from his other losses, he's not going to change anything up in terms of training. He'll stick to his regular team and they'll try and game plan for the style and bring in some people to train with. But the people they bring in needs to be high quality too. Lots of his training partners in the past that he sparred with have not been high quality compared to the opposition he is facing. Plus you need fighters with an actual fast, hard, active leg kicking game to get the timing needed for it.

Going by the training clip he posted up in the thai stance, it's way too slow and he needs to speed that up.

No he needs to go in Paris wich is not far from Dublin and go to Jean-Charles Skarbowsky's gym to learn how to fight while being drunk :

Jean-Charles Skarbowsky is a legend

Plus that clip never gets old

Conor is 32 at some point just accept him for what he is, an entertaining fighter and great showman but not an all around great martial artist.

He doesn't need to join all these gyms. His issue is that he stopped training regularly a long time or doesn't stay around the gym during his off time. He stopped seeing new looks in terms of sparring and grappling. He hires experts but sometimes they cannot cover the whole curriculum. Dustin was never a heavy kicker but kicking was important in their fight and was neglected in their gameplan.

He could still be an elite guy if he wanted. His complétive days are only over if he doesn’t care anymore
