News Triple C apologizes to Aljo

Surprised by the show of maturity by Triple C here.

Aljo was fighting a decent fight, but it's true his pace was way too high. It worked in his favor against Munhoz, but you can't sprint like that in a 5 rounder. I think he has "5 round cardio", but he needs to pace himself better to utilize it over 5 rounds.

The rematch will be interesting if Aljo can make that adjustment and also tighten up his takedown technique. It got sloppier the more tired he got and Yan had beautiful judo technique to capitalize on that.

No shame in Aljo celebrating the win and belt imo. It's a 1 on 1 fight and if your opponent disqualifies themselves then you're the winner by default. No one the former champ can blame but himself. There's 4 ways to win a fight (knockout, submission, decision, or DQ) and Aljo unfortunately managed to pick every fighter's least favorite. That's the sport sometimes.

Just seems empty to get your ass kicked, then win via dq and hold the belt despite knowing you aren't the best fighter. Most people would feel like a fraud and not celebrate I would think.

He wasn't getting his ass kicked. Yan was landing the better harder strikes. But aljo was winning rounds based on activity. Was likely going to win the 4th (iirc) and be down on 0 of the cards heading into the fifth. Yan did look to be taking over, but let's not completely die to hypocrisy

I agree and I'm sure the irony is not lost on Sterling. Here's a man who called Yan a paper champ for having no wins in the Top 5 and then after winning the belt will be rightfully perceived as a paper champ himself.

This is without mentioning that Aljo's most embarrassing loss was via a huge knee to the side of the head from Marlon, only for his biggest win to be from a huge knee to the side of the head from Yan. You can't make this shit up.

But the owness is on Yan to prove in a rematch he can beat Sterling in a clean fight without landing an illegal knee. Sterling is the rightful owner of the belt under the rules of the sport and he has every right to celebrate that, however bittersweet the victory.

Is it a show of maturity if you apologized because of huge backlash? I think this is more about damage control. He got attacked for coming at Aljo and didn’t expect it. Honestly I didn’t expect it either. But he was pretty harsh lol

I have to disagree with almost everything you said here, but to each his own.

Damage control? CCC doesn't care about that lol. Look what he post all the time haaà haaa

...you think aljo was winning the fourth?

Eh. I'd have to rewatch the fourth. But he was up on one card and only down a round on the others

It's not about not continuing following an illegal knee, it's about winning the belt by DQ after getting destroyed and posing with the belt! No apology needed.

You’re right but when has he ever gotten pushback like this before? Usually he says things that are a bit goofier. Ppl just roll their eyes and move on

Iirc Yan wasn't doing anything in the round. Idk. I'll rewatch it. I'm not saying he was going to win, just that it wasn't a beating. Aljo was more successful with overwhelming activity than people here are giving credit for.
Might not look great but is a way to win rounds.

Petr was up on 2/3 scorecards after 3, and well on his way to winning the 4th. Aljo was clearly spent and it was only going to get uglier for him. Everyone knows it. He knows it too which is why he put on the dramatic show in the octagon in front of everyone, then flaunted that dq win soon as he was out of the arena haha. Any way you slice it, it's lame AF.

Crazy how ahead CCC is from these guys. He would've definitely KO sterling with those terrible shots he was doing.

He would've of also wrestled up Jan with no issues .
I think Yan would beat Cejudo, Cejudo's MMA wrestling isn't that good, great takedowns but not so great top control.

His wins over Marlon and Cruz haven't aged well either.

<SelenaWow>

Rather articulate and less cringe. Humility suits Henry.

Every time you want to hate on cejudo he draws you back in.
