Why don't we have more rematches if the favorite loses?

Basically the McGregor treatment for all non-title fights where the favorite that didn't win their fight for whatever excuse gets a rematch until he wins and we can move on.

Because Khabib refused.

Who knows what happened. McGregor didn't get the rematch, so the point still stands: McGregor has got one single "undeserved" rematch, which is hardly enough to be speaking of "the McGregor treatment".

They seem to be eyeing up a rematch with poirier. Or conor is pushing for one.

True. But they're 1-1, so that's not really undeserved as such.

Btw, thanks for the non-toxic reply, I think that's a first from you :D

It's shameful that Aldo never got his rematch with Conor at Featherweight.

He deserved it imo. That's what we called McGregor treatment.

Aldo got a chance but refused, as he didn't get time to prepare. Which is perfectly fine. McGregor moved up in weight, became champ, Aldo moved down.

Hardly enough to coin the phrase "McGregor treatment".

Wouldn't any other fighter refuse too? They just got past a dangerous opponent, and now the UFC wants them to take a very high risk, low reward fight?

I am sure this happens pretty much every week, where they want a favourite that loses to get a rematch. Usually it will not go through.

Back and forth fights that go the distance, and it's the fans that cry for a rematch.

Getting chocked out, knocked out in round 2 is hardly cause for a rematch.

You're defending your stance very well, but it's just not a good stance.
There was no point to the Diaz rematch other than Connor demanded it. (favorable treatment)
Aldo was a long time champ and was refused a rematch publicly by Conor and the UFC went along (favorable treatment)
It took years for Conor/ Poirier 2 to play out and there is really no reason for an immediate do over other than Conor asked and everyone jumped on it. (favorable treatment)
I will say this may be the overall more lucrative choice for Dustin, but the fight itself makes no sense.
